  • Is that a discount from their standard price?

    • It's not usually a part of their range as far as I am aware, have never seenb them before so I think it may be a limited time offer.

  • is this available in other Costco?

    • Not too sure, I would assume so however I personally haven't checked. Hopefully if others see them at other stores they will comment and I will update the post!

  • Do they have AAA battery packs too?

    • No not AAA only packs, but they had 8xAA, 4xAAA + battery charger for $39.95

    cheaper buying ikea LADDA

    • While I agree, reports I have read on here from others suggest that these last longer and have more recharge cycles. The other problem I have is IKEA is much further away and a pain to go to just for some batteries.

      • From the research I've done, it seems they are rebranded Eneloop Pro with 500 Charge Cycle. Exact same specs, produced in Japan with the white tips.

        • 500 is more then 4 times less than the 2100 these have?

        • @pranksta:

You are absolutely correct, but the key point is 8pk of LADDA is $18.98, with suspected Eneloop Pro batteries (500 cycles). Who would ever charge a battery 2100 times at 8 hours each. That's 700 days straight.

        • @XioamiGuy:

LOL, yeah, this is a point that is serially overlooked… unless you are YODA or a VAMPIRE, it seems unlikely that 500 recharges would not be enough… especially if you have A FEW batteries, and are not just constantly recharging the same set of 4 or 8 …

        • +1

@pranksta: Plus the Laddas have a min of 2450mah usually around 2500-2550mah and these have a rating of 1900-2000mah which is usually the max.

        • 500 is a lot of recharges and all these products age or are superceded.

Also quality of charger influences how long they will last.

@XioamiGuy: Uh.. I'm trying to catch all the Pokemon in Pokemon Crystal on my Gameboy Color in the shitter (no power point within range). This means I have to play both Pokemon Gold and Silver too, as I don't have friends to trade with…

        • @XioamiGuy: Valid points, but I am still happy with these when compared to making a specific trip to IKEA, maybe if I need a large amount it will be more viable.

  • Grabbed these same ones from costco last time there were there, probably a year ago. Still haven't opened them! And usually Costco has same products nationwide

Thank you OP for reigniting the Eneloop excitement we once had when Dick (Smith Electronics) was around.

    • Finding then was rather nostalgic, thought I should share the love!

These are the Made in China Eneloops, not as good as the original Made in Japan Eneloops produced by the FDK factory.

    • Yes. Holds charge up to 5 years. The made in japan ones say "10 years".And there are other quality differences as well. For a common customer who just wants a rechargeable battery it may not make much of a difference but i have stopped buying these chinaloops.

I prefer to pay more and Buy from Amazon or https://ru.nkon.nl/rechargeable/aa-size.html to get Made in Japan eneloops.

      • I wonder who to contact if it's playing up on year 9

As a long standing OZB member, it would be blasphemy not to own at least a pack or 10 of the old Sanyo Eneloops.

I buy heaps of AA batteries as I have a son who has lots of toys. I put them in the toys and rarely do I see them again as they get bored of them quickly.

These days I just buy Aldi ones, $6 for 4. So cheap enough.

I've never compared the difference between the Aldi and Eneloops in a test, but what is the actual difference when used for toys, remote controls etc?
Am I likely to see any difference over my lifetime? On average, each battery get charged once a year. Even the most frequently used batteries would be charged once every 2 months if that.

    • I also found Aldi AAA rechargeable battery has higher capacity too…

  • China or Japan? that's the key question…I think only PRO is japan made.

Chocolate eneleeops are pretty poor quality, worse ones I ever owned.

    • They are made in China

  • Which is the best charger for these.

I've got a generic/std Duracell one which I'm pretty sure is not good enough for these batteries.

Use the search tool on ozb , plenty of threads about this. I use a lii-500.

    • I have maha charger, pretty good warranty period, managed to get a replacement on year two
