Would you risk your money with a dodgy operator like webjet?

    • Would you be able to elaborate? I always thought they were ok, at least preferable to one of those relatively new offshore type presences like cheapoair or something.
At least they've been around for ages…

They once booked me onto a flight route that had been scrapped. I was stuck in a New Zealand airport trying to get home. The Virgin attendant said that route hadn't been operating for months.

        • That’s weird. I’ve always at least did a price comparison with the airline before booking on a travel site. Never come across a route that didn’t show or actually wasn’t running.

Bummer you had to deal with that.

        • @Ashman247: I use to use Webjet as price comparison, even booked through them a few times before realising it costs more, I didn't have any problems those times. It could have been a once off but having dealt with their customer service I wouldn't book through them again.

      • At least they've been around for ages…
        So has Shopping Square

But nice find. I wonder how many points/$

Lots of dodgy fees and really bad customer servce.

        Flights: Webjet Servicing Fee: Domestic $21.95, NZ/Pacific $24.95, International $32.95. Booking Price Guarantee: Domestic $12.95, NZ/Pacific $14.95, International $21.95
All airlines charge varying payment and service fees, which are displayed in the booking process.

Have been booked with webjet since years ago. what I like is their price guarantee, not saying it's the cheapest but at least you are guaranteed to be able to pay the ticket at the price it returns within 30 mins even the price changed in the backend(special tickets were sold out during that timeframe). No any other air ticket aggregators provide this service, not even Qantas.

    • A dodgy operator but Australia's number 1 travel company? Hmmm!

  • Any surcharge on webjet for using Amex?

      • Thanks.Therefore 1.25% ? Not mentioning Amex

        • Wonder if they are newly accepting Amex so not a published fee as yet.

        • +1

I just tried filling in Amex details and it's 1.25% same as visa/mc. Paypal is only 1% but in this case it's not an option.

          @chickenface:

They’ve accepted Amex for years, and I don’t recall paying any type of CC fee. That part must be new.

    way too expensive…..lol!

  • +3

Not sure if it's still the case.

Once used Webjet ($50 Webjet credit) to book flights. Was forced to pay a mandatory $25 fee "guarantee" for the process of completing the purchase (from search return to the checkout process). Biggest rort ever.

      Yep, same story here.

Would love to see webjet go under, the scums.

  • +3

Don't webjet charge you extra fees when you book a flight?
I just use them to compare and then book direct with the airline.

  • +6

    Here's a challenge!

Find a $1000+ flight that's cheaper with Webjet than a reseller on Skyscanner even when it's given a $100 handicap…

I reckon you might save $20 with Webjet somewhere.

  • Thanks for giving some heads up. Would be a good to DYOR before committing any purchases with Web***. Perhaps not worth it with these small bucks saving if we have to go through another hassle.

  • I always check flights price in WebJet
then purchase the ticket directly from the Airline company

  • Where is the registration link? The link posted was just a generic Amex offer link.

  • Try to scroll down to the page from the above link and find this section "Don’t have a Card and want to enjoy Offers?".

There are 2 buttons which you can use to register depending on the card that you have.

    • That takes me to the Amex website to apply for Amex card. I don't see any offer to enrol.

      • My apologies, mate. I meant to say from this link https://www.americanexpress.com/au/content/amexoffers/austra…

Go to section such as "View live Offers today"

        1. American Express issued Cards*
Use the Amex App or click "Login" button

        2. Bank issued American Express Card Members
          Click "Visit Amex Connect" button

You should be redirected to the correct link. Alternatively, the above link would land you to the enrollment page.

Is this targetted offer? If so please tag your post as "targetted"

    • Why do ppl even neg me? The original post was link to generic Amex website and after I have reported it, it has been updated to the registration link.

      • Ignore the negs. They are just digits (digital-world rubbish)

  • I use expedia, webjet, adioso and found expedia the best to compare flight and hotel.

Webjet so so in terms of pricing

Adioso is the worst lately as, once you click to buy the price quite often different with what presented on their website

Does anybody actually use Webjet? I looked at the site about 5 years ago saw a dodgy booking fee and never returned

  • Any way to split the bill across two credit cards as my total is $2039

Anyone knows if Webjet gift voucher is processed as Webjet Transaction? It doesn't say voucher purchase is excluded.
