  • If we click buy it now, can we wait to pay later with the discount?

    • You would have gone past the step to add the code by then.

      • In the original deal post, people are saying you can do it…Don't want to click it unless im 100% sure

        • Just checked
"Immediate payment required for this item"

    • Isnt the code active?

EDIT: Sorry should have read the post. 6pm - 10pm

  • What's the difference between the series 8 and series 9 Kogan tv's?

  • Damn - paid 589 two weeks ago. Are they trying to offload an old model ?

    • It's $619 before discount.

      • They would've used 5% off code

        • Yeah I used PINCH5 and I thought 1 was getting a good deal since the price in the review is a lot higher than $619 - then they brought out 10% now 18% - having said that the stock seems to run out fast so I'm glad I got one in the first place

Return it and purchase this ..lol.

I am in the same boat with you. The only difference is after two weeks I actually spotted two deal pixels on the panel… I can confirm they are not 'stuck pixels' where Kogan customer rep initially suspected. The return has been arranged and someone from TOLL IPEC is coming to my address to pickup the faulty product. See my photos for reference:
      https://ibb.co/ea1LzQ
      https://ibb.co/ntn4R5
      https://ibb.co/mRY0zQ
      https://ibb.co/kTz7eQ

The thing is, for these two tiny deal pixels if you are sitting like 2m away from the TV they are hardly noticed. In most cases I was playing PS4 games and the videos are usually fast moving. However, when the TV is displaying pure colour background, deal pixels they are very, very easy to be spotted and that's where it starts to drive me crazy.

I am surprised that the communication with their customer rep. was quite smooth, only five or six email correspondence have made the return shipping arranged on the same day my claim was initiated. There is no charge on the pickup (but I am not sure whether Kogan will ask me to pay when they send it back to me, though)

What would be embarrassing is if they find that you had forgotten the time you LOLled while eating biscuits.

        • Exactly, I am not counting on them for fast resolution…..Everyone knows Kogan is very famous as poor customer service. So let's see how this one will go……

  • Wow and I thought it can't get any cheaper! I bought it two weeks ago for $558 and I'm happy with it so far as my first 4k tv.

    • Are there any negatives you've found? Is there lag between changing channels? How are the smart features? This price is fantastic but just want to be informed

is something up with the "Original 18% off Sitewide on eBay Deal Post" link?
points to some old question from 2010 about water distillers, unless I'm missing something about this TV.

  • original 18% link not working, even the go to deal link not working

    • Wonder how this would perform as a computer display

      • you will ruin your eyes mate

        • I have been running a 40" tv screen for years and a 30.5" before that, they have both been far easier on the eyes than any 24" inch monitors I have used.

The "will ruin your eyes" is a hang over from the very early screens or just BS, either way its not correct.

        • @geebee: What about the screen size and how far you should be from the screen thing? I think it's your screen * 4? should be how far u sit from it. Was told by a Bing Lee seller.

        • @Nick K:

I sit 60 to 70 cm from the screen normally and if slouching with my feet up on the desk about 90 cm :)

        • Makes me think of the Simpsons "Radiation King TV" episode https://youtu.be/2ScUjHWUL34

    • Edit: links working now

      • link works but code won't work for me

        • Thursday 6pm to 10pm I think

        • @Nick K: oh ok, thanks very much

  • Anyone tried as a computer screen?
How is the lag on input?

    • I use it for this. I use a dvi to hdmi cable. The speakers on the tv crackle. I just have to turn the volume down to 0 and it stops it. Other than that. It’s great

Would this be fine for gaming? PS4?

    • Would also like to know this!

    • My intention also

    • Used Xbox one s on this. Great quality

  • Does this code on the work for the flat version, not really keen on the curve

  • -1

how good are these? how long they last, 4k curved for $500, it has to be shit to be true right?

    • Right range for basic 55"
Curved doesn't add value, many people hate curve due to the glare issues.

  • Does anyone know if/how you can purchase an extended warranty with an eBay sale?

    • Message them

    • Would love to know this also.

    • As in:
"3yr breakdown cover from Virginia Surety - AU $150.86".
As the sale is a code entered on the sale generated that page, I suspect the question an Ozbargainer should be asking is whether that discount applies to that as well. I imagine it would.

  • LG 49UJ654T is also a good alternative for around $950 after discount from good guys

  • Purchased. Thanks OP

    • I bought one too.

  • And we're off..
    Got mine :-)

  • Thanks.. bought one!

  • So it doesn't have built in TV tuner / Netflix etc (dumb tv, fair enough at this price). I plan to use PS4 for Netflix, any recommendations for TV?

    Thanks

    • Err, no. It has a built in Tuner - even analogue if you ever want to visit the past. It just doesn't have a web browser/apps and USB only gives you 1080p video. A Mibox, tablet [ with 4K output] ect will all work fine.

      • How easy is it to get high quality English Premier League streams for free via Kodi (on Mibox)?

I only really use my TV to watch Netflix and occasionly the odd TV show, then I find dodgy online streams on my laptop to watch EPL.

Is Kodi worth it? Like can you literaly wath anything on it?

        • You need to check with optus for that - and whether it is 4k or not I'm not sure of. CHeck out the Whirlpool forums and ask regarding EPL on a "fetch" box.
EPL comes free [and data charge free] if you have some Optus mobile accounts - and if you are a fan, Optus have the Australian rights.

Bought one right at 6pm. Don't need any built in smart TV features. Would rather a dumb panel and i'll connect up a mi box.

    • Mi box deal is up if you still need to buy.

      • Got one in a deal on here about 3 weeks ago, has been a great little box so far :) Coming from a Raspberry Pi 3 which i has so many issues with and it eventually died.

    • Same here. Locked in "smarts" that you can't update are useless. I have a Winbox, android box and GTX 1050 ti in a HP 8300 i7 that will light this up a treat.

  • It's gone from " 4 sold in the last 24 hours" to " 31 sold in the last hour" .

  • Purchased. Thanks OP

  • Can someone please help me with the link to this product on ebay. I'm looking at a price of 881.00 and the code does not apply. Thanx

Nevermind, I got it. Had to request desktop site.

  • Can this T.V be wall mounted?

  • I am unable to apply the coupon. Getting error:
This code can't be applied to your order.

    Anyone else facing issues?

    • Are you paying by paypal? Check your address on both paypal and ebay to make sure it’s Australian

  • Can anyone help me what's the coupon and where to apply it? I could see $619.96 as the item price. It is not getting discounted even in the payment site for the default 18% discount. Am i missing anything?

    • +1

Click on add item to cart, click on view cart, click on proceed to checkout look for a box to enter coupon code, enter coupon code PARTY18 price will change then pay.

      • Thanks Jimmy. I found the coupon box :)

    Purchased, didn't even know I needed a tv…

That's ozbargain for you….saving you money again ;)

  • Got my TV today. Massive crack in the screen. It’s like someone kicked it in anger lol

    • That’s no good! Are you getting a replacement?

      • I emailed support. Will talk to them again tomorrow. Will comment with how it goes

        • any developments yet?

        • @phor8: got a new
          One delivered within a week

  • I got mine a couple of days ago, I'm no TV expert but picture seems great. Very happy with it for the $500 price.

  • I fired mine up with Skyrim @ 4K and high detail. Luckily I was perched on the edge of my couch and squatting on my haunches in battles so was only able to play for 1/2 an hour, so I did get to eat and leave the house that day. Really nice being able to see the Western tower clear as a bell from Whiterun. It was a bit awkward resetting the refresh to 60Hz as you have to switch between another input and back quick enough to bring the screen up to click on the "yes" dialogue to set it but it was worth it.
It upscales SD TV pretty well and DVD resolutions really well - you can see a bit of noise in dark areas in a dark room if you pass close plying DVDs, but it isn't apparent when watching from > 1 meter, which I guess most people will do once they are over the thrill of looking for pimples the make-up department missed in 4K presentations…
