  • Great deal again.

  • +4

Wow on the price to hardware you get..

  • How much does it weigh again? 1.7kg?

    • 1.87kg, too heavy for my liking but great price for the specs

  • -4

    will be cheaper tomorrow.

    • +5

      Tomorrow's sale is 18% off
      20% > 18%

  • +2

Wow i got this last week at $835 and thought it was a good deal, this is amazing

  • +1

Writing this comment from the very same laptop, purchased for a very similar price. Highly recommended.

    • Does it game well?

      • Mine has dedicated graphics, goes pretty well. Not sure if this one does or not. Dissipates heat faaaar better than other laptops I've used (none were 'gaming' laptops though). Great keyboard.

        • what sorta battery life would you get out of browsing and normal laptop usage , i.e. not gaming?

        • +1

@SaberX: Battery life is definitely not the strong point here… I haven't really ever used it like that, but I'd estimate probably 4 hours.

        • Hey jrowls,

The dedicated graphics you're taking about is the NVIDIA GeForce GT 940MX 2GB DDR3L right? How well does it game, could you give an example of some games/settings? I'd be looking to play Overwatch and PUBG btw

Waiting for another deal to come around on this or the E570p

        • @shrugies:

That sounds right. I'm not 100% sure as I don't play that sort of game, to be honest. I play Football Manager games, and they have a graphics engine but I couldn't compare it to other games. I've seen reviews of laptops with similar specs though and they are perfectly capable of playing games like Overwatch.

        • @jrowls: Thanks for your input :) I'm thinking abotu jumping on the Lenovo 570p deal that TA just posted

        • @shrugies:

I would definitely do that. A friend of mine has that machine and it's the reason I got mine. Best of luck! :)

        • +1

@jrowls: Thanks for the advice ! I decided to get this for $929, refurb from Dell Outlet :
          Inspiron 15 (7567) 7000 Gaming Laptop, 7th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-7300HQ Quad Core (6MB Cache, up to 3.5 GHz)
          8GB DDR4 at 2400MHz (1x8GB)
          256GB Solid State Drive
          Windows 10 Home (64bit)
          15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display
          NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) GTX 1050Ti with 4GB GDDR5

        • +1

          @jrowls:
Yeah I got 2-4 hours on the predecessor. Definitely not a strong point. Also seems to drain rapidly when sleeping.
Ended up getting rid of it because of this reason.

        • +1

          @tanksinatra:

Yeah if I was mostly mobile I'd definitely get a different laptop, but I just like to be mobile in my own house with my computers so it's fine for me.

  • Amazing deal!!

  • Would this be good for school?

    • +1

      Yes, as well casual gaming.

      • -4

        No it will be painful.

        • Ahuh.

  • How does this perform with Adobe premiere pro?

    • Average. Go for a full power i5/i7 CPU with dedicated graphic.

I think they have deals on the E470p from time to time, should perform better than this.

      Edit. I mean E570p.

  • +1

bought the Asus zenbook just two days ago with pretty much the same spec, cost $1000 more. oops…..

    • Sorry, replied to the wrong comment.

    • +1

Well sheet specs aren't everything, the screen and build quality on this laptop are pretty mediocre.
Though I'm not sure if there's a laptop good enough to justify $1700 for an 8GB i5 but then that's dell's entire XPS business model so maybe there is.

      • +2

Do you own one to comment on the build quality? We have 2 of these within our household and the build quality is EXCELLENT…

        • -4

I'm glad you're happy with your purchase but that doesn't make them excellent.
The E470 wasn't even the best built thinkpad when it was released, it's a budget laptop.
I dont own one though, to answer your question.

        • +4

@Lief1250: well you don't own one so not sure how are you commenting on the build quality of a product that you have never had. It has been the best selling laptop on OZBARGAIN for last 2-3 months atleast so alot of owners here should be able to comment on build quality :D

        • @Lief1250: Typing on one right now. Build quality feels great. Unless you're referring to its aesthetic build which does leave a little to be desired but hey, who cares what it looks like at the end of the day because surely that's not what you're purchasing it for. Bang for buck machine for sure.

        • +1

@AlexTheKidd: Actually I was thinking along the lines of more generic things like chassis material and weight compared to what you might get from a vastly more expensive laptop like the aforementioned zenbook but I guess that wasn't very clear.

        • I will have to be a +1 on agreeing build q as EXCELLENT - these are built tough - great for students/backpacks etc - terrific keyboeard also

  • Dam good price - I shouldve waited to buy mine … great laptop

  • I really don't need a laptop. Please stop posting such good deals. I must save up for more eneloopes.

  • I'm looking for a new laptop to use on the couch to do some programming/ study and was strongly considering the Xiaomi Mi Air 13. What are people's thoughts about this laptop vs the Xiaomi as both are in similar price brackets? The Xiaomi probably my pick so far for aesthetic and slightly lighter.

  • Since this is being sold on ebay rather than the Lenovo website, would Lenovo honour warranty on this? Thanks

    • +1

It is sold by Lenovo Australia on their eBay store, therefore YES !

  • Damn. I don't really need a laptop but this offer is tempting. Can anyone comment on the actual battery life of this model?
    Can it run Civ6?

  • Can RAM be upgraded?
Is the screen any good. IPS?

    • Yes RAM is upgradeable and IPS panel…

  • +2

    Two downers about this model.
    No DP
    No HDMI 2.0

    • I agree. I also don't see why they would include a dedicated video card with only DDR3L…

  • +2

Out of stock just as I entered my payment info!
Still more than 10 available when I clicked through cashrewards, and in the two minutes it took me to log into Paypal, suddenly there's none left! :(
Sad I missed out…. just as I made up my mind too! Urghhhhh frustration is through the roof

    • +2

Ozbargain lyf. You can't have that satisfied feeling when you land a bargain unless you also cop some bad / slow / regrettable decisions on the chin haha. Condolences anyhow.

      • Haha thanks.
I'll recover in time. I think.

  • Damn missed such an amazing deal

  • Bugger!

Would have been a great graduation present for my daughter who is starting uni next year.

  • Same model is available on their website for $1099 (saving $400). Still a good price for the specs.

  • This is not a bad deal https://m.ebay.com.au/itm/2017-New-LENOVO-ThinkPad-E470-7-Ge… , comes out at 820$ with the party18 discount.

  • Can vouch for the build quality, these things are solid!
My Dad got one around 6 months ago (although with 16GB Ram) and he is absolutely loving it!

  • E470 Deal http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/-/112572002045?. Can you use the Party18 code on this one?

  • +9

    Delivered ALREADY :D
    Superfast Delivery DHL !

    Guys,
Just wondering if many people left out of the deal and what would be the reaction if Lenovo was to bring this deal back around ? I might have good news for people who were left out here…

    • One here, waiting for this deal to be resurrected again!

    • Also this deal has to work with the PICNIC20 code which has expired. It would be good if Lenovo offers it at the same price :)

    • I couldn't make up my mind as to what I wanted in time and missed out, so I'd also be interested in some good news…

I find it hard to believe bunnikins and I are the only ones!

    • Yes please! My laptop died yesterday so I am super keen.

    • Yeah mate let us know

    • Me me me!
See my vent post above about missing out :(

    • I need one too.

    • Mark one down for me, for sure!

    • Waiting here too :|

    • Please bring back this deal!

  • 100% need one and would buy it at that price in a heartbeat

  • Please bring back this deal

  • Will jbhifi price match this offer on ebay? It was offer from lenovo and not just any small or personal seller.

  • Does it come installed with 1x8gb ram module or 2x4gb?
