From experience, these have a failure rate of about 60 %.
Most (if not all) of the Brand Name gel pens (have at least 30 pastel, glitter, metallic) I have ever bought over the years barely write most of the time. I think Smiggle ones are probably the best. Does anyone have any fail-proof ones that they use?
These have 12 reviews with 5 start ratings on Target website though, unless Target deliberately selected the positive reviews for this product (while many of their other products have 1 - 2 star ratings, and others aren't even rated).
I went back to school, and some tutors (?) demanded hand written work. ERRRGH. I'm digital, 20 years. 2 days until insane cramps. Bought some gel pens from officeworks, and never looked back. Truly amazing. Every few lines, had to wipe off the running/excess gel from tip. And they were a lot more than traditional pens. Lasted 3 days until empty. But zeeeero fatigue.

Dang, sold out just when I finished putting the kids to bed! Will try in store or wait for Aldi's end of year Christmas special buys. Can choose either the metallic or glitter variety. From memory $2 for 12 pens. That said I still have some left … but I am slightly obsessed with stationery.
On another note, scoured BigW and Kmart websites, Kmart has 20pens for $3 http://www.kmart.com.au/product/20-pack-gel-pens/120020 works out to be 15c each, no free delivery. Can't say anything for the quality as I've not used them.
