wings to make it go faster?

    • +3

Those are mithril shields, help during intense combat scenarios.

    • +17

They help when you're watching pr0n and someone is approaching from the side.

Bought for this reason, THANKS OP!!

      • +3

Need to get a chair with wings on the arm rests too.

        • Wank booth?

  • Really need a good deal on a new 144hz g sync monitor I'm sure others will buy

      $800 27"
      IPS, QHD, g-sync, 144hz (165hz oc)
has plenty of good reviews on youtube, but they usually say the default colours are shit but can be adjusted to completely normal.

      • I was just looking at this https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/263116271035

      • Is g sync worth the extra $$?
Anything else to make the AOC cost $230 more?

        • the bad things about it seem to be that it's not IPS (will be less vibrant) and does not have g-sync or free-sync (the monitor will have in game screen tearing)

I don't have a g-sync monitor. Note that Gsync is for NVIDIA graphics cards while Freesync is for AMD. G-sync is more expensive for some reason.

        • @Blu2: g sync requires a hardware component to be added to the monitor. Free sync is just software I believe.

        • According to reviews the image quality on this monitor is… subpar.

Meanwhile the AOC monitor has recieved an 'editor reccommended' title from TomsHardWare, and a lot more positive reviews (and reviews in general) than the ZOWIE.

The only reason to pick up the BenQ imo is for TN-speed input lag. But really, can you really tell the difference between 1ms and 4ms?

        • @zailiner: I play Starcraft 2, so probably Gsync/IPS isn't going to have much of a negative impact?

        • @congngo:
Yeah wouldn't be necessary unless you play at a competitive level, where I'd imagine screen tearing would cause hell with all that would be going on on screen.

        • @pancaeks:
If I'm not mistaken, Free Sync requires work from the Radeon video card, so performance will be reduced. G-Sync monitors have the hardware module built in, and that does all the work, so no load will be placed on the Nvidia card.

@shiny1: >If I'm not mistaken, Free Sync requires work from the Radeon video card, so performance will be reduced.

          You're mistaken.

      • Looks good.

the bad things about it seem to be that it's not IPS (will be less vibrant) and does not have g-sync or free-sync (might cause in game screen tearing)

  • WQHD= 3450x1440?

    • Max. resolution
      2560 x 1440 at 144Hz (HDMI 2.0, DP)

      http://zowie.benq.com/en/product/monitor/xl/xl2735.html#spec…

      • opps, too much ultra wide in my head haha

    • Wide Quad HD.
Wide means it's not Ultrawide (yea lol, very confusing)
      Quad HD, HD = 720p (1280 x 720). Quad HD = 4 x 720p = 2560 x 1440 = 1440p.

      • So it is.

        HD
        FHD
        QHD

        haha

        • Yup and 4K is not 4K but rather UHD = 4 X FHD = 3840 X 2160. It is really confusing as 4K is only 2160p. And Wide is not Ultrawide but rather standard aspect ratio.

I dont understand how this disadvantages you.

      • +2

Because with eBay selected stores special the seller have to pay for it.

        • +1

thanks mate. looks like you know the inside out..

        • @JWComp:

Yeah but I don't understand why during storewide code some sellers still up their price.

      • From what I've gathered, stores foot the discount amount during store specific sales, hence the usual pricejacking. Where as when it's a sitewide code, eBay foots the discount amount.

        • +1

On one hand I kinda feel like I'm finding out that eBay is the villain (no surprise really) responsible for the fake (lifted prices) sales….yet on the other hand I'm sure these stores opt in to them and so are responsible as well.

This deal though, I can now understand why the vendor didn't want to double discount.

How do we be one of those 10 to buy at $699 if it's already gone up?

EDIT, nevermind it's a TN panel, not interested

    • Price is still set at $899 for me.

  • +2

    well played jw, well played

For that amount you could get yourself a larger and better tv.

    • +1

I wonder how the expensive monitor market is still afloat?

    • Play some twitchy shooters on a big TV and let me know how that goes.

  • +1

trying to update the prices however minor issues, please check back price will be back to 699 and 10 unit only.
    cheers guys

  • price is updated.
anyone want one now is the time.
    offer will not be repeated
    thanks guys

  • Main deal link has been updated with the new listing, 8 units remaining.

    • thanks mod

  • How does this one compare to (ignoring the size)?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/287778

    • This screen has a higher refresh rate. This one is 144hz the one you linked is 60hz.

      • Thanks! I guess that makes a huge difference.
        Cheers.

  • I got a 24 inch 144hz benq similar to this. I wish I got a bigger curved IPS display instead (with reasonable response times for an IPS). The smoothness is nice though and even though it's subtle people do notice it right away. But I would have been more happy with an IPS display the exact same size locked to 60hz for half the price.

    • GTG means nothing.

yep, i do wish i have IPS. but i would rather get second monitor good IPS QHD IPS 60hz for anything else. main 24 144hz for game only xD

      • I plugged in an ancient Dick Smith 720p tv to game with just for the heck of it. The input lag alone is noticible. But I quickly get used to it. I think I’d be happy even with a 27 inch 60hz ips, after my taste of 144hz “bliss”. And yes it is set up properly, the benq I mean.

        • it also depends on the game. my TV has like half second lag. when i use it as a PC display. it feels like i am remote controlling someone else….. 144 is definitely butter xD

        • The DS tv is just particularly bad. But even still I find myself winning/losing just as much as I did on the 144, and once you start moving around you don't even notice the lag. I don't play games where you snipe and flick your wrist all day long though.

    • Acer Predator X34 is a nice compromise imo. I've been very happy with mine.

      • How much did you pay for that?

Just want to point out that if you buy this, know you are dealing with a company that has absolutely 0 post-sales help/contact, if it wasn't for ebay's system on how they rank review ratings, it would be much lower than 97% positive.

Please PM me if anyone finds a monitor like the one above as its exactly what I'm looking for in this sale.. albiet the top of my budget due to other shopping sprees.
