  • Good price for a Snapdragon 821 phone… Can tell le eco is struggling to sell as much stock as possible before they go under

  • Why call phone a TV?

  • Letv is going to bankrupt soon.

  • +3

i brought a Max 2 after extensive research on the Le Eco series of phones
I can safely say: dont touch them unless you are a power user that knows how to flash new ROM and back up all the data etc, there are a few OS for this phone listed and the max 2,
    https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/ and fly me 6 http://www.flyme.cn/firmware.html#18
it is recommended to flash ROMs like the two mentioned above or others one can find, if one dont like the stock ROMs (the one shipped with the phone is tempered ROM) updated to april this year.
beware of bugs and lesser battery time as they are all in beta stage.

I brought the Max 2 for 229 shipped to me in 5 days in the last deal and test it as cheap VR headset and result is not too bad given the 2K screen given 501 dpi ! I end up confirming i need a headset that can adjust individual eye focus distance for me to use VR for long.

There appears to be a special announcement of the company in the end of the month calling it a new start, by then we will know whether the phones business be sold or cut. Given they were sue 100 million by the phone ODM maker, i say these phones are now a bargain lol. until then, stay away from the MTK chipset devices even they are mere 135 dollars shipped with 5.5 inch! i was unable to source any third party ROM support for majority of MTK range of devices.

again, with some third party support, buy at your own risk!!! It is a good hardware package for the price, i brought the Xiaomi mi5 S plus for 400 AUD equivalent.

    • Had been using My LeMax 2 X829 (US version) with EUI since I got it and I don't see anything wrong. I don't play games but I know the phone is very powerful and yet good value at the price.

Geeks has the right to be geeks but should not apply their usage methodology to other people. I am sure the factory rom is good enough for most people.

BTW the finger print sensor does sucks, don't expect Huawei sensor speed. Also colour of the QHD screen is not that great. Apart from these glitches, it has been good for as long as I had it.
