That's exactly what adding periods to an email address achieves.
Difference being that an email address with periods will pass validation on most (all in my experience, but there could be some exception) registration forms, where as an email address with a plus sign will not.
Edit: Here's an example using my new Google account [email protected] to register on GearBest with the plus and period methods.
[email protected] results in "Error, please enter correct email!" in the registration form.
[email protected] results in "Your account activated successfully! An activation email has been sent to you. Please follow the prompts to activate your customer account." and the welcome email is in my inbox.

If you bought from the previous deal from Banggood and use cashrewards, the difference is not that much at all.
Because cashrewards gives 4.5% for Banggood purchases, but it only gives 0.70% for Gearbest purchases (existing customers) ^_^ or a bit better 2% for new customers.
