        • @citygal: Nah I was just sharing what I was told. I had no issues.

          Although I'd agree with you for general advice to other people..!

  • Just use whiteboard marker if you really need to wipe it off quickly

      I think you're missing the point of the awareness campaign.

      • +2

        I think raising $30 is enough of a contribution to the campaign.

        • -1

          Not by the rules it isn't. You don't have to participate if you don't want to.

          But yes you could try and "cheat" it a bit too by doing your whiteboard marker thing

          @illumination: spare me the armchair activism. You can even tell from this year's figures where the Ozbargain team has raised 5.5k more money compared to last year that painting a nail really doesn't do anything. They were clever to make people pay $30 this time. Thinking that painting the nail is going to make a difference is your opinion, but I feel paying $30 is more than enough for this campaign.

          @BlazinPast:

          I didn't say it wasn't enough in my opinion. I'm saying the rules are there for you to see and it's slightly amended from last year such that you now need to donate $30 in addition to last year to get your burgers. I also would prefer to just get it free like last year but I'm saying it's not really up to you to decide whether it's enough or not.

          It's just the rules, and if you don't paint a fingernail then it's if you get lucky.

          I'm not commenting on whether I think painting a fingernail makes a difference or not because I don't know whether it does.

          They were clever to make people pay $30 this time

          Yep and I'll be the first to say it. Last year I didn't pay a cent and got a burger everyday. This year I've donated $30 and plan to do the same. I also don't care about whether my fingernail is painted or not, but I want my burgers so I've painted my fingernail. I've always been asked to show it so my experience with the staff is that they do check.

          @illumination: I haven't been checked yet but last year they checked, they didn't notice the fact it was whiteboard marker. I just feel like it's not going to raise much awareness for people who don't like the nail polish since they will get rid of it soon anyway. Funny thing is I'll end up donating less this year since I remember donating around $50 last year (around $10 every visit). I'm just going to spend more money in store this time since I do want to support a company that cares more than just their bottom line.

          Lol you don't have to have it on all day, everyday for the duration of this promotion. You just need when you make an order.

          @MrB: yea or that!!
