Game - Wii Wireless Sensor Bar - 2 for $4.95

200

Picked this up at Game in Camberwell (VIC) today. They had a lot of stuff with 2-for-1 deals.
I thought the price was good for a wireless sensor bar but I got another one free.
Lady at the counter said something about the 2-for-1 promo was suppose to end this week but she did it for me anyway.
Takes 4xAA batteries. Last for up to 7 hours continuous play. Has 1 hour or 2 hour auto off.
Note, I had a look at the sensor bar with my camera and it only has 3 infrared LEDs on each end (as oppose to the original Nintendo wired ones with 5), but surprisingly it worked better and was more accurate for me (I sit quite close to the screen).

i guess the proximity to your screen has blurred your ability to detect a bargain?:p did you damage your original?

    • $2.50 for a wireless sensor bar is pretty damn good. Don't know what you're smoking…

what im smoking, surely isnt anything gameware

And if $2.50 isn't cheap enough for you then you can always light 6 candles on top of your TV ;P

    • I sit about 3Ft away from the screen, which is the lowest threshold for Wii sensor distance (according to Nintendo). Some shooting games don't track that well up close.
Didn't damage the original, just thought for less than $2.50 I didn't need an excuse to try out this wireless one.

  • Hrmm, I could really use one of these for club days. Would be particularly useful for a ceiling projector setup while being able to keep the Wii itself close to the connections.

Hope my closest store will have some.

  • Do you know how far away from the console it can be?, & how far away the player can be from the bar?

    • The bar doesn't communicate with the console, it just produces infrared lights for the Wiimotes to see. So theoretically you can even have the sensor bar and Wiimotes in the next room and still play, as long as the Wiimote does not lose connectivity with the console.
Nintendo recommends 3 to 8 ft distance from Wiimote to sensor bar. (You can adjust the sensitivity in the Wii options - Google it).

  • Takes 4xAA batteries. Last for up to 7 hours continuous play.

thats not much game time for 4 batteries…
its cheap but thats alot fo batteries and not much game time…

    still damn cheap though

    • Yeah the batteries are the killer cost for a wireless sensor bar ($2.50 for the bar is still pretty darn awesome).

If you have a spare USB cable, you could splice the wires into the battery holder and then use a USB wall plug to power it. It doesn't become wireless anymore after that however :P

  • It is a good base for a long distance mod. A bit useless if you already have a working one.
