Boardman Team Road Bike $510 Delivered, Boardman Team Road Carbon $600 Delivered, Boardman Hybrid $440 Delivered @ Amart Sports

180

I was trying to check what a specific part on my bike from this deal was, when I noticed that the price had dropped by nearly another $100! (I'm going to go cry in the corner now)

Looks like it's a permanent price, so I'm guessing they're just clearing out their inventory of this (all my nearby stores were sold out, but it's showing as in-stock online).
At the time of posting, only sizes available were:

Road Team: XXS, XS, S
$450 + $60 Shipping

Road Team Carbon: S
$540 + $60 Shipping

Hybrid Team Hybrid (?!): XS
$380 + $60 Shipping

Great bikes, 10-speed (near) full 105 groupset (although the Carbon is listed as having a fair bit more Tiagra then the alloy), I really love mine (though having slight issues with adjusting the front mech atm).
Only thing to note is that the wheels are actually Shimano WH-R501s, for those of you who both know what that means and care.

Come with no pedals or tools (5Nm torque-wrench is very much suggested, as it has a couple of carbon-fibre parts), and some assembly required.

EDIT: Looks like the Carbon's all gone, but they've got a hybrid in XS still.
10-speed SRAM Apex, disc brakes, included pedals, carbon fork at 10.1kg.

  • Carbon = small only

However, there is a basic X Large Boardman road bike for just $240 plus P&P

    • Yeah. 8-speed Claris, with an extra 2kg though. But if you need the larger sizes, what can you do?
That said, Boardman apparently runs their sizes larger than most other brands, so check out the sizing chart over at
      https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en/service/sizing-advice.ht…
I think that the consensus last time was that the Road Team fell under the Air on that chart.

  • What would past purchasers suggest if I'm both right on the top of the size for an XS and the bottom range for a S? (172cms)

    • +1

XS, lighter bike for marginal gains

      • But it is harder to resell XS if wants to upgrade to another bike

  • Prices were like this for a while now. It was actually cheaper last Sat when they had a 20% off storewide sale

    • damn, you should have posted it!

Probably get a neg for saying this but I didn't post it because I was planning to get it in store for myself. They only had one left in my size. Unfortunately I came 5 mins too late and someone got it just when I arrived.

I didn't neg you but this makes me sad as now I don't know whether to buy or try and wait for a 20% off special

          Here's a + for your honesty. :)

    i'm really bored man

    get it?

  • Good deal consider how much more the second hand bikes asked for on Gumtree.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought a small road team. Pretty solid components and can easily upgrade the cassette to 105/ultegra if needed

  • Well, bit the bullet on a XS Road Team over the weekend. Was tempting in the last post for for $603 but for this price it's a no brainer.

Got excited when i figured out a couple of ways i could get 10% off e-gift cards but turned out only in $100 increments and T&Cs said i couldn't buy more gift cards with them and you can only use one in an online order, so only was able to get one $100 card. $10 off + $18 Cashrewards = final price of $482 :D

Super weird buying an XS with a 52cm top tube when i normally ride a medium!

Put mine together this morning. Great bit of kit with quality components. However, it did take a bit of fine tuning with some of the gears. Front derailleur wasn't quite straight, so spent a bit of time diagnosing that. All in all, very happy and would recommend to others. Deal is still on.

    • Same boat - rode mine to work for the first time this morning, it's a damn lot of bike for $500. Everything pretty straight forward apart from gears are just a little off. Any chance you can recommend a guide or video to adjust them?

      • Park tool guides are brilliant. Here's the one for the rear.

He's got a creepy, serial killer vibe but he sure knows his bikes!

        • Thanks!

        • Dumb question, but I just realized I didn't use the rubber strips etc in the clear packet. Wtf are they for?

        • @Chickenleg: They're your brake pads. Hope you haven't ridden yet!

Kidding kidding. It'll help if you posted a photo. :)

        • @eug: haha I'm not that much of a noob don't worry 😉 But it is my first 'proper' road bike

I can see that the pair of smaller ones seem to be brake/gear level spacers, but the others? Were the longer ones meant to go between the stem and handlebars and the round one for the seatpost clamp? Nfi on the tiny plastic plug

        • +1

@Chickenleg: no idea. I've just kept them in the bag. If you find out, let me know!

        • @smalldeadchris: same here. Swapped the spacers out to see how it feels, but yeah, the rest? Not a clue.

  • wondering if the brakes are shimano 105 as well?

    • Yup, they are.

      • cool. thanks for your replay. appreciate that :)
