Mmm being hanging out for this sale but a bit disappointed, looking at Melb to Bali and the prices are $388 return for my dates, they were $438 yesterday. Still a saving but not like the sub $300 deals they have had at other times.

    • I agree choice and prices are not as good as in previous sales.
Last sale we managed to get CNS-Bali for four (incl. luggage) for about 800. Now it is not even in the list and pay the same for CNS-Sydney.

    • sub $300 prices will be scarce now that they have no other direct competition after Tiger got shut out.

    • Go to Cairns. Nicer and easier to get to.

Couldn't agree more. I have no idea what people see in Bali?

        • Expense. For $100 a night I can get 5 star in Bali, $350+ in Cairns. Also a feast of a seafood meal for $20 that would cost $150 in Cairns.

Having said that Cairns is lovely!

          @TheDolphin:

How about going somewhere with a different culture, food, language, etc.

Places tend to look similar whenever you go.

  • I just booked my flights!!! gah!!!

Sweet - 180 return flights to NZ

    • What dates, city?

Feb next year. Melbourne to Auckland

  • $35 cheaper for flights Syd-Melb for PAX argh…….. I bought air tickets too early

It is great - now waiting for Vigin's competitive deal, which works for me even better for access to lounges…

  • Great deal if you don't want to take any checked baggage. I just spent 15 minutes looking for their baggage costs and could not find it. I would prefer to pay more for transparent pricing.

    • +1

The pricing is very transparent…All listed during your bundle selection. ranging from $32 - $72 extra. took less than 5 minutes.

    • Agree carry on only. Example… last June…DPS- PER 1 way luggage $33 Airasia equivalent $25. Check in luggage with JS would would wipe out the savings on a price beat

Any idea how often Jetstar have these sales? I am looking to travel in May next year and my flights are on sale now. I am hoping they will have similar sales a couple more times prior to May so I don't have to buy and pay now? I have some other costs coming up so would prefer to delay this cost.

    • seems they are having these sales every month or so

  • Ah damn, nothing cheap for Adelaide to Bali in September.

    • I'm a bit annoyed, prices outside of the sale dates have actually been increased.

      • Wait till after the 'sale' finishes 😂

  • Whats up with the booking fee ?? You used to be able to pay via bank deposit to avoid the fee

    • They still have POLi fee-free.

Will wait for the next Japan Return free Jetstar Sale

  • This lot Specials not much to shout about.
Managed to book Perth-Bali for Feb 18 with Air Asia for $156 return a while back.

  • Picked up return flights to Melbourne a while back after pricebeating against Tiger. $60 both ways, so definitely cheaper than the $90 alternative.

  • is $1283 return for 2 adults (and 20kgs bags) and a kid in June any good? Apologies, never been to Bali and unsure if the 'sale' is worth it or not. Have read some of the comments regarding lack of competition on that route so it may be hard to tell, however still keen for any feedback and comments please community

    • Sorry I forgot to specify - above is Melbourne/Tullamarine to Bali/Denpasar

    • For 3 seats and 2 x 20kg bags It's reasonable and unlikely to get lower and likely to go higher. June starts to get popular with Aussies because of the cold weather and holidays like Queens B'day and some schools.

I booked myself out late May back early June during this sale. Basically if you can get return flight for around $400 seems good to me.

      • Thanks mate appreciate it

  • btw Jetstar doesn't price beat Tiger anymore if say the price was $45 and their own price is $49 :/

  • Would similar prices likely come up again in future sales before next big Spring sale? The leg I keyed in doubled during the day. I'm not used to looking out for flight sales :(

Is there an app or site that people recommend for alerts and monitoring?

  • Disappointing and false advertising/price gouging on Jetstar's part.

I've been keeping my eye on a particular Mel > Bne flight for a while, and its normally $145. Under the 'sale' its $165!

    • Is that in Private Browsing mode as well? Apparently the airlines use their cookies to jack prices up when you search for the same flights repeatedly!

      • I've been monitoring all flights for the same day not drilling into the specific time slot itself, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Just checked from another browser on a different machine…same $$. Maybe the number of available seats is dropping, and their lifting their price due to demand.

        that's a myth

the only thing they do with cookies is particular hotel ordering.

      • I agree it's a myth well for Jetstar anyway. I have checked this at least 10 times over the last couple of years. I have checked the same flights from servers in the US, Singapore and Oz, all same price.

  • Adelaide to Melbourne during the first week of December for $118 (return, so $59 per flight) per person, is this the cheapest?
