Nikon D3100 is $799 at http://www.vanbar.com.au
I bought all of the following from Ted’s for $2150:
- Nikon D3100
- Nikon AF-S DX 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR
- Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G
- SanDisk Extreme SDHC 16GB
- Lowepro Toploader Zoom 45 AW
- Lowepro Lens Case 1N
- Extra 2yr warranty
Alternative was Canon 550D, which would have cost about $600 more with equivalent lenses. Whilst it has better video (although no continuous autofocus like D3100) and LCD screen, Canon lenses are more expensive (and don’t include lens hoods like Nikon) and also in the case of the zoom, is larger and heavier, such that with the 550D body, the total weight is not balanced.
This is NOT a freebie, you are required to make a purchase…
