Best price I have seen lately, not a bad deal if you like Gigabyte. They usually start around $660+ but I haven't seen one of those on OZB in a few months.

Sorry for any newbie mistakes.

eastern europeans mining fake money! no GPUs left, AMD new cards are overpriced to target content creators not gamers!

      Big if true

  • "not a bad deal if you like Gigabyte"

I think it's been quite a while since the brand slapped on the side of a mass produced card really made any difference.

Yes it does. EVGA for example has global warranty.

      • Performance-wise there is almost none

  • is there a shortage with these cards? they are advertised for pre-order locally from australian sellers

    • Yes. They're being bought up for Ethereum mining (similar to Bitcoin.)

These cards in particular aren't the tool of choice, but the overall pressure on supply has jacked prices up a lot.

  • Urgh, it kind of hurts that 1080ti has been only about $150 more than this recently! I'm in the market for a graphics card and considered 'byting' at this price… but can't help but wonder what next week will hold.

  • Problem with Gigabyte is that it comes with 1 hdmi port and 3 display ports. A bit of an inconvinience if your monitor uses hdmi and you get something like the occulus rift which also needs a hdmi port.

    • I feel like this is fairly standard despite the manufacturer. Nothing stopping you from using an active DP-HDMI adaptor though?

    • This should be fine. You should only be using the HDMI for Occulus Rift - HDMI can only support 1080p at 120Hz which this card would be overkill for. For monitors it's better off using the Display Ports with 2K @ 144Hz or 4K @ 60Hz

      • HDMI can only support 1080p at 120Hz

You do realise the whole 10xx series has HDMI 2.0b don't you?

        • No I did not know this - you can play 1440p at 120Hz with that connection after all.
