    Devil of a deal 😜

  • So cheap!
    How are the servers now?

    • will probably be very, very empty once Battlefront II is released on November 17

Still, I wonder if the single player experience is worth the $6 dollars or so. I still have a massive backlog of games to clear.

      • +3

Isn't there 'no' single play campaign in Battlefront 1?

        • +1

There's only a few missions. half an hours worth of gameplay…

@scrimshaw: There's also the survival mode which on hardest setting with a friend I find is pretty fun and lasts hours, then there's the walker assault maps with bots too.

      • +1

You can still do scrimage against bots. Definitely worth it for this price. It's a fun game and it looks beautiful. If you're a star wars fan at this price its a no brainer!

      • The speeder bikes mission is worth the six bucks :)

    • +1

I gave it a shot when I signed up for origin access a few months back. Spent 10 minutes searching for a server, gave up and uninstalled it.

      • Dont know why he is getting downvoted. I bought it a month after it came out, and waited on average 25-30min for games. And only in one mode

  • Battlefront 2 coming out on Nov 17th.
Still it's worth the money :)

  • +1

Thank you for this. I bought it just now.
Cheaper than a Big Mac meal~!

    • +3

      But not a McFeast ;)

      • But not an icecream $0.50

  • +2

    Worst game ever!

    • +3

Although I share a similar opinion of this game, I don't understand why you gave it a positive vote.

      • +3

Still a good deal, and whether the game is fun or not is subjective. No point negging it because you don't personally like it when it's such a cheap price.

      • +1

Pretty much a good deal for a shit game, I bought it on sale once and its not worth more than a cup of coffee.

    • Worst? For a Star Wars fan it's pretty cool.

    • +1

So you consider that Superman 64 is a better game.

  • Servers still being populated?

  • +2

No servers, no one plays this game. EA really screwed this one up with their DLC crap, fragmenting the already small player base.

  • Can confirm no one is online.
Tried to play the X-Wing and tie fighter mode and could not find a soul online.

I should get a refund for my DLC.

    • Try changing your region

      • And get horrible ping :'(

        • But at least you get to play and you can get a few kills in still.

  • that would be excellent if there were still people playing the game.

this game had SO much potential, but server problems from the start ruined it. If EA had fixed them in the first couple of weeks, it would've been equally as successful a game as their Battlefield series, but unfortunately it took them months to fix and by that stage the player base had moved on.

  • Worth it for that much.

  • no PS4 version? Assumingg the ps4 lobbies are a bit less…Dead

    • was on sale during the sony winter sale, might be still on? $10-14 or so.. i picked it up.. decent numbers online, till the next one at least..

  • Anyone know if the PC version on Origin includes local co-op?

This sort of implies it does, but not specifically for the PC version (where it's often left out for no reason, even when it's a port of a console game that DOES have local co-op).

Just did a bit of reading. Apparently several of the levels have had an Offline Skirmish vs player or AI mode added, so you can play out some full levels VS bots. No substitute for real players, but at least you can get some games going.
Between the skirmish, training and survival modes I think there is enough to warrant a $6.66 purchase.
But then again, I am a huge starwars geek :)
    Trigger pulled. 52GB download though.

  • Well its star wars.. if I can play against bots why not… kids wont know any different.

  • While multiplayer online is mostly dead, $6.66 is an excellent price for a second copy so that I can play hours of co-op missions with my teenage son. Great value!

    • Can you actually set up online co-op with a specific person easily?

      • +1

Yes relatively easily. First add them as a "Friend" in the Origin interface, then launch the game. In the game at the top of the screen, invite your Friend to join your "Party" and then Invite them to be your "Partner". Then just start any of the Missions or Skirmish. Or try your luck for a populated game via Multiplayer online.

        • Awesome, thanks!

  • Purchased! Now can someone download it for me… 52gb download lol

    • +1

clicked the 4 hour trial but it took 8 hours to d/l lol

guess I'll have to buy it now

  • I downloaded on Xbox last night and couldn't find a game.. I contacted Microsoft and demanded a refund (even though it was only 7 bucks). they said it wasn't covered as a refund item but i made a good case so they refunded me.

  • So, are people able to find an online match at all? How about if you go for US servers despite the ping?

    • I had a few 2v2 games and 4v4 games around 7-8pm last night which i assume were on the Aussie servers. Didn't take long for matchups but no one on those 40 player modes though.

Cost less than a beer so can't complain !

      • I ended up downloading the trial version and setting the "Matchmaking Region" (under account settings) to USA or Europe. Easily found 40 player matches, the lag wasn't really noticeable surprisingly.

  • I just bought it for $6.66 today so I don't think it's expired yet
