    Any deals on sonos..?

    • +1

Sure, what Sonos Models are you after

      • Are you guys on eBay? Good prices but due to eBay 20% off a lot of them look cheaper on eBay. I am keen on Bose SoundTouch 300 Kit .

        • Sorry not on ebay

      • +1

        I'll bite if OP wont…1x Sonos Connect (ZP90) + 1x Playbase + 2x Sonos Play:1 + SUB and Shipping to Brisbane.

      • +1

After a couple of play ones— have a play base which has a built in subwoofer so am reluctant to spend another grand on the subwoofer. It's a shame you are not in eBay— would have been an excellent deal with 20% off

      • Couple of Sonos 1— have a play base already. Thanks

awesome deal. anything other deals on your higher end Yamaha AV Receivers?

  • Damn no preamp built in. Anybody have any suggestions for alternatives or do people with turntables typically just buy a preamp separately?

    • +1

@MWH: Not for that little dough you don't. Second hand top-end gear can be had cheap if you look, but you may have to buy a whole kit to get the amp you want. But you can sometimes sell the bits you don't want so thus end up getting an amp for free ;-)

    • +1

just buy separate if this AVR otherwise meets your requirements. You'd probably spend double or more on an AVR that has a basic preamp built in,
v's $30+ for a separate one thats probably as good as the built in.

    • What do you mean by amp? Sorry I'm noob.

Can't you just hook up your speakers, TV and other devices to the receiver?

      • +1

The signal from turntables is too low for regular audio input so it has to be "preamplified". Not many come with them these days as it's a bit of an edge case

    • That, or turntables have a built-in preamp.

    I have one Brand New

    RX-V1081 left @ $1375

    http://www.audiotrends.com.au/yamaha-rx-v1081b.html

    And a Yamaha RXA-3060 for $1995

    • RXA 3060 is a good receiver. It is almost similar price at Eastwood Hifi at $1999:
      http://www.eastwoodhifi.com.au/

(AU stock with 4 year warranty)

Would be good if you can have a bit better price. They have very good name in HiFi market.
Bear in mind 3060 is previous gen and 3070 is out. But is more expensive.

Bugger! Just purchased the older model for slightly more just yesterday!

This is a great deal, so those that are looking for an entry model AVR (like myself) should jump onboard.

  • +1

absolute steal. bought one about 2 months ago for $392 😭

  • Hi OP,

Any deals for something with a phono input?

    • All the cheap AVR's from Yamaha Denon and Marantz have dropped the phono.

you would need to look at a Yamaha RX-V683 priced around $1000

  • Got one. Couldn't resist.

  • +3

Thanks for all the questions and feedback today.(and orders)

Ill be back online tomorrow morning to answer any questions.

    Cheers

  • The word you're after is "theatre".

What are good speakers to go along with a receiver like this?
Speakers that are a good bang for buck for a 4k HDR setup.

Could I please get some suggestions, 5.1 system.

  • Does this support standby pass through? Couldn't find anything on the web.

  • Hi rep, how would you compare this one to the AV receiver of YHT1840?

  • Good receiver but I would wait for a deal on a network receiver with spotify connect. It's pretty convenient. I know a chromecast audio could do the same but integration is nice.

  • Anyone know what WiFi technology this receiver uses?

I paid ~1,200 for a Yamaha receiver, in 2015, which has wireless G (yes, G!). Makes the WiFi pretty much useless, too unreliable.

Might be something worth looking out for.

Other than that, it's been a solid unit.

    • I don't see WiFi listed, may not be there.

  • Thanks OP, have been meaning to buy a receiver more as a HDMI switcher than anything else. This will suit nicely when coupled with my tv. I have six HDMI devices and two composite, so this will handle four and the tv the rest.
Just need a couple of little bookshelf speakers now (I have no space for big ones)

    • PS- I assume oz post won't just leave this at my front door, right?

  • what a deal, ill be getting one

  • Hi rep, after something that I can output stereo to 4 different zones. Does such a product exist? Basically just multi-room type setup so I can play music in different rooms of the house. Cheers

  • Do you know if the four feet can be removed from this? My TV entertainment unit only has 16cm height space for a receiver. This may fit but if he worried about heat dispersion from the top of the unit…

  • Any suggestions for good 5.1 speakers to go along with these? Budget $500-750.

  • Hi Everyone

We have sold out for now

I'm trying to get more stock, hopefully I will have an answer today

    I will keep you posted

    Cheers

  • Looks like i can get about 10 more RXV-383,

However the stock will not arrive until August 25th

  • All stock is now gone.

    Thanks for the support.

    • Anymore coming in at that price?

      • not sure yet.
If i find out we can get more i will let you know.

      • I've got 2 more left from the shipment coming next week.

If you want one give the shop a call on 03 9874-8233 to place the order.

        • Also comparing this to the Yamaha Aventage RX-A660. Can you PM me a price for that? Thanks

        • Got one on the phone! Thanks

  • Mine arrived today - very pleased. Been without a working Amp for about 4 years - neighbours are in for a surprise ;)
