I guess the discount is on due to the release of the latest DLC (downloadable content) for the games today.
With the great AUD/USD exchange rate at the moment, the game(s) is/are a steal. The Left 4 Dead series is extremely entertaining with limitless replay value.
Purchasing and downloading the first Left 4 Dead game will not give Australian buyers a censored version but I believe buying and downloading the second one will.

When you use your creditcard put in a US postcost and state everything else can stay the same i used LA :)

L4D2 is the only censored version (L4D1 was not), but really, it's not that bad.

2. Login [Password will be in your email junk/inbox] and Start Trial [Gives you 3 hours, more than enough, I did this in 20mins]

one thing i did notice was that it was cheaper to buy games in the US than it was over here, eg sometimes the same game was substantially cheaper (half the US!! price) when going though a proxy.

Smidge?? It's totally worth it. Some have paid for a complete new version after they bought the censored by accident.
On the other hand, the censored version plays smoother but all valve games are optimised like crazy anyway.

The differences means everything in a game like this.
besides the missing blood splatter you are also missing out on:
* No Dismemberment: You cannot shoot or melee any limbs, including the head, off an Infected.
* No Corpses: As soon as they’re dead, Infected bodies will disappear.
* No Riot Cop: The “riot cop” Uncommon Infected will not spawn at all. In fact, if just one player on the server is running the Australian edition, the “riot cop” will not spawn at all.

The riot cop part is incorrect. Censored games feature a riot security guard instead of a cop. (looks exactly the same, it just says SECURITY instead of POLICE)

Last time I tried that, Steam put my account on hold. After putting in a support ticket, I got the following message:

I downloaded, started it up, and the shield in the taskbar is green. I've checked that the IP is now located in California.
I've added the l4d 1 and 2 bundle into the cart and logged in.
Now I have to enter my card details. Which entries need to refer to the US as opposed to my real details?

I'm not sure exactly, but at least the Country has to be changed.
That's why I try to get someone else who has done it many times before to do it for me.
And according to other peoples' experience, only cards like mastercard or visa doesn't check your address.
Change your country to USA, select CA from the drop down menu for state, and have a 5 digit postcode. Everything else should remain the same.
That's because the bundle is only available on the US and UK steam. For some reason the Aus one is often missing a lot of deals and bundles..
