Rockwell Shopseries Car Polisher 120W for $24.99 @ Supercheap Auto

90

Cheap polisher at SCA, down from $50, though will be good enough for wax/sealant applications only. Forget about any serious cutting from this one as per few online reviews.

Bought one during the last 20% sale. I've used it once to wax my small car and I tell ya, it's not comfortable to use. It must be it's lack of balance when it spins because the thing shakes a lot more than it should and it just isn't comfortable to use. I wore gloves after 10min of buffing but at that point I had only waxed one section of my car. It was a pain to do the rest and I kind of rushed it because it was just too uncomfortable after a while. The results were fine but I felt totally wrecked after.

It's not bad value at $25 if you don't mind a bit of pain because you do get results but I definitely won't buy it again, even at this price point. I'd probably opt for a more expensive but more comfortable alternative. Remember, it's your beloved car you're waxing, you want to spend time on it and with this, you just want to get it over with.

That's true and 120W power means no cutting power whatsoever.
But as an entry level polisher for spreading product out it may be worth looking at especially at $25. :)

I've always waxed my car by hand and I bought this thinking it would give a better result, faster and less tiring. The speed and result may be a minor improvement but it's definitely a different type of tiring.

I gave it a go at $40 and I probably wouldn't do it again but that's me.

    • which one would you recommand?

The DAS6 or Flex but they are much more expensive than this one :D
If you are looking at a budget option, you can look at http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/Rockwell-ShopSeries… for $120 or others but mind you its 600W so a 6in backing plate will not result in much cutting power, you can use a smaller 5inch backing plate with it.

That's cheaper than foam pads :)

Also quite bulky to get in between small gaps / under mirror etc. Pain in the butt to reach across roof. If I had my time again I'd buy the next level up polisher (Spinning head at the end type). These regularly go for around $70 (with 25% off sales etc)
