230

If you like to do your online shopping in Taobao, you can now get your items consolidated by Taobao (don't have to go through an agent) and shipped to their pick-up points in Adelaide, Victoria and New South Wales. They are running a promotion right now, for the first kg of your parcel, you are going to get 50% off, that is RMB24.5 (AUD4.60). However, you will have to pick your parcel at a designated pick-up point (usually a shop), once they have reached Australia. Pretty good if you are planning go get some cheap stuff online from China! :D

You will have to purchase your items before the 12/8/2017, parcels consolidated and shipped before the 22/8/2017.

The discount is only for pick-up, not for delivery.
It's only for 4PX courier so don't forget to select this courier when you checkout.

    • Thank you! Will update this info! :D

      • Great deal!

FYI, your link for pick up locations isn't working.

        • Is it working now?

        • Still no go.
I couldn't find it on 4PX's site as well. Can only be seen in Taobao.

  • No english?

Good Question! Tried to check out their webpage to see if they have an English Version of their website, couldn't find anything. Probably can try Google Translate? Otherwise, find a friend who can read chinese? Sorry… :(

Friends in Australia have this way
      Painful experience
There is no online shopping world
There is only poverty in Australia
      Everything is expensive and outrageous

      .. They know.

  • Any good items exclusively on this site to buy compared to the others GB, BG, fasttech etc.

Taobao is a good source for "knock-offs." You can't find fake Rolex-badged watches on the big sites like Aliexpress any more, but I believe there's plenty on Taobao.

  • Nice. None for Perth?

    • No pick-up point in Perth at this stage. :( They will probably add more pick-up locations eventually.

so many items are not allowed to ship thru this way.

    • oh? what are you trying to get? @.@

I've seen memes for this mob.
    what do they actually sell?
    Can you get baby formula?

    • They sell anything you want

    • Taobao is eBay, but there's a heavier emphasis on wholesale.

  • I think they must have used that Hungarian Phrasebook to look up the meaning of "Grand"….just a few pages down from "hovercraft" and "eels" I hear. This deal really fondles my buttocks.

  • I haven't checked for the cheapest price on Taobao or how much shipping is, but two of the most notable things I picked up from my recent trip to China (last year) were:

    1. A bidet which just sits on top of your existing toilet. Similar to this one: https://world.taobao.com/item/544890095486.htm?fromSite=main….

    2. A food blender, similar to this one: https://world.taobao.com/item/526091096046.htm?fromSite=main….

The bidet needs a powerpoint in the toilet which most houses don't have, but if you're in the process of doing renovations, consider opening a powerpoint in the spare toilet and near your toilet seat in the bathroom. We were lucky because there was a powerpoint in the next room nearby and we easily extended it through the walls into the toilet. The hose connections are not too difficult to do. Make sure you buy one that has English on it, there are many with English on the buttons. Ours had only Chinese and Korean, took hubby a while to remember the settings. There's also a child setting, my six-year-old loves it (the first time he used it, water went everywhere of course, but he's since learnt how to use it properly on his own).

The food blender works as well as the Vitamix in my opinion. I don't own a Vitamix but I've tried the samples in Costco and the blender from China works equally as good. It also has a heat function so you can even set it to cook soups. The only issue with the brand we bought is that it claims to make soy milk but once heated, it overflows everywhere every single time. We had to reduce the amount to a lot less than the recommended amount on the instruction manual for it not to leak, but then once it finishes cooking, it's only about a third of the jar. It makes the smoothest juice smoothies and the creamiest fish soup as it blends through all the bones.

So happy shopping (if you can read Chinese). :)

So…Do I put my shipping address as one of the pick up location on the list?

    • +1

Nope, just use your address as the shipping address.
You will be able to select the pick-up location from the list when the parcel being dispatched.

      • Thanks, that's helpful!

      • I am sorry but I can't find it….
I put Australian address into shipping address, it shows 4PX as shipping company. But I can see any shipping charges.
The order is created, not showing shipping charges.
And it forwards me to AliPay.

Could you tell me please if pickup selection is done after AliPay (step 4 I think).

        • I wrote up the process:

          -Place your order
-Pay item cost & postage to 4PX warehouse (in China)
          -Your parcel arrives at warehouse
-The warehouse measures the weight of parcel
          -Pay international shipping charges
          -Select pick-up location
          -Your parcel is dispatched
-Pick up parcel from selected locations

          Hope it helps.

        • @leoh:
          Thanks.

But do I have to wait until it arrives to 4PX?
And where and when do I pay for shipping?
I didn't realized the prices is that complicated. :)

          Thank you.

        • @SickDmith:
Yes you have to wait until it arrives to 4PX.
Then you can check your account again and there should be a button next to your order that will let you pay the final shipping cost.

        • @leoh:
          Thanks for the help.
          Managed to purchase the thing.
Now postage to pick up point is around $9 for 0.3kg. Not a big deal but feels like I didn't get 50% off on shipping. :)

Is this new direct shipping option (to Oz) much cheaper than the freight forwarders of the old?
