"We are currently experiencing technical issues"
Last time I fly with them they also have a lot technical issues at the airport and cancelled my flight.
Never again Tiger.
An all to familiar story.
Some times the "cheapest" flight ends up being your most expensive.
It seems Tiger tends to just cancel flights, rather than delay and organise a replacement aircraft.
The end result being some times its not possible to get to your end destination.
Flyer Beware
im waiting for the whinge thread in a month, tiger cancel/rescheduled my flight, tickets are now 10x expensive………… I would never book with these pr*cks again.
Tiger twice, never again.
I end up bought a more expensive ticket from Jetstar at the airport and now still waiting for them to refund me.
Yeah I'm getting nothing atm. Looking to get up to Cairns so this could come in handy if the site works
Melbourne-Cairns in January $115 + $1 Return.
What shits me with Tiger is sure, they are the cheapest right now. You save say $50 over the competition (just an example) - purchasing for a flight in Feb.
Then, 1 week before your flight you get an email saying your flight is cancelled. No make up flight, no reschedule, just here's your money back, best of luck. Now you've already booked your hotels, cars, meeting with family etc. so you need to travel on this date. So you look at the competition and everything is now $200 more expensive and you're on the hook
I guess this can happen with any airline but of the 3 times I've booked with Tiger, they've done this the last two times (first flight was trouble free).
There, that felt good getting it out of my system
I guess this can happen with any airline
Most other airlines care about their reputation and will at least re accommodate you on an alternate flight.
An interesting business model Tiger has, why strive for customer service when you can just aim to offer the lowest price flights.
Tiger does however bring competition and their sale fares at times can be leveraged for a price beat from Jetstar.
Concerned now for my Tigerair February flight to Sydney……
Oh crap, and my two flights to Coffs in 2.5 weeks.
Or that time my fiancee's Tiger flight was delayed by ELEVEN hours, announced only 2 hours before take-off. The McDonald's at Sydney airport must have thought I was some homeless wanderer…
Jetstar and Tiger both cancel more often than Qantas and Virgin. But we're speaking about less than 1 out of 100 flights more often… And Tigers on time performance is actually much better than Jetstars.
The problem is more that Qantas can rebook you onto another plane while Tiger doesn't have the capacity due to flying less often and being usually more or less fully booked. Which you really can't blame them for at these prices…
1/100, there's still hope then.
That delay I mentioned was just the worst instance— our track record of bad experiences with Tiger is actually 3 out of 4. I know that doesn't mean the true probability is 75 out of 100, but I think if you drop the ball 3 times with a customer you've lost the right to their individual patronage.
Price match with JETSTAR.
How would you go about this?
Would like to know, how to do it online?
Call. Better and quicker. Get the times you want to travel and check too at Jetstar web.
@mooreshady: do you happen to have a phone number for that
i tried calling and they said it had to be done via a "live chat" which doesn't even exist anymore
The 1 hour +- flight time difference is crap. Needs to have a bigger margin.
What travel dates? Can't find any Syd to Perth
The sale is for travel early next year between late January and late March 2018.
From Sydney
Perth

come back for $1^

I noticed the official Tiger e-mail doesn't list all the promo fares (or maybe it was their ugly formatting that threw me off?).

Thx, priced matched with Jetstar!
I didn't think Jetstar pricematched $1 return deals?
They do now. Syd to OOL return flight for $145 total for 2 adults.
The return $1 flights were at terrible times for me, using the SYD <-> MEL route. Return flight departing at 6:45 AM was $1, the 7 other flights during the same day were all the normal price. Tried other dates, found the same thing.
63 up votes at the time of writing.
Who rolled the dice and booked flights?
Who used the offer for a Jetstar price beat?
What are the actual prices? I see the promo on the front page but going into deals doesn't show anything.
EDIT: Is it wild fares?
