I bought the Hero5 Black from that insane TA deal a little while ago, so if the Hero5 Session was similar I would have bought one from this deal. But I am not using that one as much as as I have been planning to, so not a good idea to get another one at the moment.

That's a Hero 5 Black, not a Hero 5 Session
Ah yeah, was asking in a roundabout way what the difference was between the 5 Black and the 5 Session models, as well as showing the price difference that Black has over the Session.

This time, the 5 Black is lighter, more rugged, waterproof, and gets the Silver's touchscreen. It's unambiguously better, unless you have very specific size requirements.
The session doesn't have the screen so you can't review photos or videos quickly.

But here it's $329.80, and you can get those few extra accessories a lot cheaper on eBay, if you don't own them already, (and a 16gb MicroSD is shit for these 4K cameras by the way. You need bigger, Extreme cards).
I didn't meant to say that costco is cheaper but just in general mentioned as last week was hunting for good deal and saw one at costco. I am glad didn't bought from there.

It's not. The Black also includes a touchscreen whereas all of the Session's navigation and viewfinder requires a companion phone app, among other functions. Secondly, you can swap out batteries on the Black to immediately resume filming. If you want to use and charge the Session simultaneously, you'd need to route a cord through to your helmet, etc., and the door needs to be open, so you lose water and dust-proofing.

Depends on your settings.
The difference to me is that i would not consider strapping the black to my quadcopter, but the session is perfect for it.
You can also get the Hero 5 Session for ~$310AUD with no fee card from Amazon at the moment if you don't mind waiting a bit of time for it to get here (approx 14-20 days)
The Session is one of the latest camera from GoPro. It is a great little camera with a good resolution overall. It's not the same level of detail as seen with the Hero Silver, however for people like me who find themselves in the woods for days at a time, it's awesome to be able to have a lightweight and compact form factor to pack in.
Thanks, grabbed one to take to the snow this weekend. Nice size and I've been looking at getting an action cam for ages. Right price!
