  • Nice.
    On the weekend,
    Coles had $2.50
    Woollies had $1.89

      Wollowrths deal sounds good.
      $1.89
      + free plastic bag
      + self-serve checkout
      - 0.5% aldi credit card surcharge
      - long queue through a single lane of shoppers.

      • +4

        You forgot
        - 5% discounted gift cards
        - 0.5% for woolworth member points earned
        - 2.1% for cashback via amex plat edge

      • That price must be store specific. Woolies in NSW have strawberries for $2.40 not $1.89

    • Its $1.50 now at woolies town hall

  • My local Aldi also had a 500g punnet for $3.49 this past weekend so it worked out better than buying 2 x 250g which they had for $2.20 each (from memory).

They'll probably be a bit mouldy after a month.

Just bought a 3Kg tray of strawberry's from my local farmers market for $6 or 0.002c per 100g
Shows you how much profit they still make…

      Check your maths

      • His calculator fell off the pile of Aldi goodies walking out of the store, as he didn't bring a bag and someone nicked all the empty boxes.

        • +2

20c per 100g. Corrected. In any case, it was cheaper than Aldi.

      0.002c per 100g

      0.02c per Kg

      link please ?

    • The top grade strawberries that you see in the supermarkets, often have quite a low profit margin. But believe what you will

  • It's just $1.50 at Woolies ;)

I find fruit to be definitely hit and miss with Aldi. Fewer workers mean they tend to be in a hurry getting stock out and don't care if they are rough on things like strawberries. End result, lots of bruised or squashed strawberries in your punnet.

      User name checks out.

berry berry good deal, no punnet tended.

I just bought 2.99/500g from ALDI

  • This deal is not available at WA Aldi's. They had strawberries for $1.50 for a 250g punnet 2 weeks ago.

  • BigFields (a VIC franchise found at shopping centres) has 500g Australian strawberries for $1.89.
