    Slight bit of ambiguity … reading 2nd line by itself, seems to suggest 2 points per $1 spent.
    3rd line seems to suggest 3 points per $1 spent.

    Unless 1st line (EXTRA points) & 2nd line (the extra being 2 pts/$) are to be read in conjunction … so 3 points per $1 spent?

    Which do you reckon is the case - 2 or 3 points per $1 spent? Thanks.

      Extra 2 points per $1. So if you spend at supermarket with Platinum Edge for 3Pt/$1, you end up with 5Pt/$1 total.

        Thanks for clarifying. Yes, my oversight - of course it depends on the card :-) (my comment assumes normal point earn of 1pt/$ which is not always true). So it is indeed 2 extra points on top of what the normal point earn is. That is good!

        Thanks forumninja. I was wondering too if the 3 for $1 on groceries stacked to give you 5 points per dollar spend.

        It would be an unintended cOnsequence otherwise of reducing usual points.

        Now the issue will be finding nfc terminals let alone those who accept amex. Real bummed as i just did my woolies groceries shopping last night :(

        Platinum Edge is not Qantas card.
        It is earning Amex point.
        Don't know how they honor this card with Qantas points

    Also on my Qantas Discovery I get 2 Extra Qantas points with Android Pay instead of 2 MR points.

    I only had the Android Pay one showing up on my DJs AMEX.

    Terms and Conditions state that you can only earn a maximum of 2500 bonus points.

    Not offered against my Plat Edge :( 5ppd would have been nice. It's not worth getting 3ppd when you can get 5%off gift cards, but this offer makes it similar……and yes it all comes down to how you value your points / $.

        Hmmm, very true.
        I never got any local champion bonus, made many small $ trans at Woolworths and Coles, and was easily local champ, but never got my bonuses. Rang up complained (providing screen shots), got my 2000pts in compensation and have never been back. In normal conditions, 5%+ off gc's kills it.

          You have to spend min $30 or $40 once a day for x number of days to get it. I was LC of my Coles for a month, racked up 10k points easy after the smaller txn

          I got the local champion had it for nearly a month (over 2 different periods), was clearly shown in my account. Just never got any bonus points credited, thus the complaint and subsequent 2000 bonus from Amex.

    Still a great deal OP, but Amex are getting smarter with "great deals". This one is particularly good if Coles Express includes fuel and the 5ppd is on Plat Edge…….anything in T&C one the Coles spend.
