    Unlimited time offer

    ie. normal price then?

    • +3

Voided warranty and refused insurance claim, no extra charge.

I'd probably do a bit of research before making extravagant claims like that.

I have a V8 Commodore, with aftermarket intake, exhaust and custom Dyno tune, and am definitely covered by insurance.

And as for warranty, there a number of workshops that work alongside dealerships, to provide power packages covered by warranty. For example, all Walkinshaw work, is covered under Holden warranty.

        • Yes of course you can get insurance. You have to contact your insurance company immediately after mods who will almost certainly bump up your premiums or change to a specialist company like Shannons
If you do significant mods and don't inform them then crash, bang, claim rejected

Normal price is $3159 as mentioned in the title itself

      • +2

if this offer is for an 'unlimited time' then it is the normal price.

        • +2

Got to agree with jv on this

        • True indeed.

  • '…exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is a nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions reduction technique used in petrol/gasoline and diesel engines….'

Diesels are dirty enough. Do we really need to make them even dirtier just for a bit more power? Besides that, it seems very expensive given you can get decent ecu upgrades for well under $1000.

This looks like the equivalent of a "Stage 2" upgrade on any other turbocharged car, and for the price it actually looks pretty good. I'd be curious whether the downpipe and intake are name brand or in-house (not that there is anything wrong with in-house), and whether the tune is personalised for each vehicle or if it is off-the-shelf. If it is all name brand stuff then it should be pretty reliable, but if it is an of the shelf tune with in house pipes and hardware then it might not be as cohesive.

Regarding the EGR delete, i would argue that EGR valves cause more damage to the engine than is necessary, and significantly shorten the lifespan of a diesel engine by substantially increasing carbon deposits in the head and surrounding the glow plugs, which leads to rough idle, poor acceleration and ironically much higher consumption. There is a solution to it which is to fit a catch can for the unburnt fuel and gas (provent), but people are lazy and never empty them which is a problem in itself. /rant

edit: I also meant to say that an EGR delete doesn't increase power.

It says right there in your quote that it is an emissions reduction technique. It does not increase power. I blocked mine off in my Ranger as soon as I bought it as it can be harmful for the engine.

'compromising the reliability of the vehicle.'

    VW, reliability, lol.

  • +1

    That all ended quickly. ….
So whats was the deal anyway……??

    • +5

OP got all sniffy and cancelled the deal AND their account after a couple of perfectly reasonable comments.
      OP is a big sook

      • They're known in the VW community as being rather expensive.

OzBargain is a tough crowd for those unused to the forthrightness of comments.

      are you proud?

    • Savas spelt backwards is 761371resUdelbasiD.

  • I think tampering with a EGR is a offence regarding emissions

    LOL VW and "emissions"
