u guys shud beware of imitations
theres alot of made in australia ugg boots but theyre all imitation. just cause theyre made in australia doesnt mean theyre authentic.
e.g. there are "Ugg" boots, there is "Ugg Original" "Original Ugg" "Ugg Australia" etc etc
they all seem to be the same thing, but its all imitation companies finding work arounds for the Ugg trademark. That being said, i personal would not care, as long as the quality is decent, the materials are good and the prices are cheap!
just thought it would be helpful for those wanting the authentic ones to be careful
There is no ugg trade mark in Australia as regulators wiped it from the registry few years back. Ugg is considered a generic term for this style and this kind of footwear has been around in Aussieland long before someone suddenly decided to trademark it and try to shut everyone else down. Because of that as personal preference T'd buy any other brand but the "Authentic" one. Love them during winter at home - would not be caught dead wearing a pair on the streets.
About whether its considered a bargain, is this how much these go for now days? Last time I bought a pair they were dirt cheap down at Victoria Market.
Ugg Australia (the Australia made ones - not the American company made in China) is the original Ugg company. 100% sheepskin and extremely well made!
That's a neg from me because it doesn't actually tell you what the bargain is.
These boots are not cheap at all. Might be a reduction of their usual cost but definiately not a bargain. I know a store that sells the original Ugg Australia cheaper than this!
The Skin Thing - Sunshine Coast sells (for instance) the long ugg boots with an EVA sole for $125 and on this website the Classic Tall (comparable) is $159. So NO BARGAIN!
At the bottom:
'Australian customers please note that a 10% GST will be added to the total of your purchase at the checkout time.'
might help to say how much that additional discount is?
