  • Genuine this time?

  • I'd be tempted to buy another pair if they had big boy sizes. Good price for them.

    • +1

All sizes are available I am just adding links now.i think I have read their sizes run large so I went for one size small.

      • +1

I also read the sizes are large and going down a size is the correct thing to do..

      • oh thanks. Because I saw sizes I assumed that they were the only ones… damn ass u me

      Hi there big boy💋

  • I need some new work boots as mine are falling apart.

Are these good quality and comfortable work boots?

    • +1

Can't comment on quality of these for work boots, but if you want a really high quality pair of work boots that still look ok I purchased these (http://www.blundstone.com.au/mens-or-womens-wheat-work-and-s…) about a month ago and they are great!

      • +1

They are what I am looking for. Thank You!

      • +1

yep - blundstone are awesome everyday work boots

I also find their dress boots more comfy than RMs

      • If you want really top quality go for ASOLO or one of the other $400+ hiking books. You may pay more initially but they will last far longer and cost less when you realise that you have bought multiple $100 range boots.

    • Aldi were selling 'special buy' tradie boots for $36 or so last weekend. Almost bought a pair for the garden.

But depending on what you need 'em for, go for a recognised brand! :)

I swear by Rossi boots. $90ish at Bunnings and made in Australia

      • Picked up a pair on clearence for $30 last weekend. Last pair. See how they go.

Never owned any but I do wonder if these are just another "pay more for the brand rather than quality". Rivers make some damn good boots, just wonder how the 2 compare.

    • +4

True but Timbs make you channel Pharrell, and if you wear RM's you look like Mick Dundee.

    • +1

Maybe, maybe not.. but for a pair of boots this isn't exactly expensive. Timbs seem to have a pretty large following so you'd assume the quality is at least somewhat decent, check out a few reviews and comparisons online if you're unsure.

I've got a pair of Timberland boots I picked up a few years ago for about $120 at parity from Macy's. They're pretty good, despite falling apart a little. Mine are a grey suede-like fabric with green laces. Sometimes they feature in my casual Fridays rotation. True story.

how do we know it's genuine? i just got one from platypus for $230, thinking it was a good price, should i refund (i havent worn it) and buy kogan one?

  • Damn no size 15 :(

    • +1

You what they say about guys with big feet…..

      Big laces

  • If you are not sure whether these are genuine, catchoftheday are selling them for $169 at the moment, but only sizes left are US 11 and 12. They are selling the ladies ones as well.

    • -1

Buying from Catch = buying from Kogan

      • How ?

        • As much risk with both

      • +1

Bought a pair from catch two months ago and they are genuine.

EDIT: they are actually selling for $158 atm.

        • Plus shipping unless you have club catch. Good to know that they are genuine but no one has confirmed Kogan ones to be knock offs. Kogan website sells for $158 plus shipping

what is OZBargainer's favourite formal boots?

  • +1

Are these legit? Seems a hell of a lot cheaper than you typically see Timbs going for.

    • Yeah I thought so too - this price is like 50% off RRP.

      • +1

Timbs must have just found an even cheaper in some fourth world shithole country that costs less than their last place.

  • All I can think of when Timberlands is brought up is I'll have an e please, Bob

  • +1

I got a pair of these about 8 years ago for less than $50 from a US wholesale site. You could use them for work or hiking but there are virtually no other contexts you'd wear them.

That I've had them for 8 years is a testament to my unrealised ambition to become a regular hiker rather than their sturdiness but they seem sturdy.

    • +1

Eh? Work or hiking? They are a fashion boot and people wear them everyday with casual wear. They are ok for short hikes but not really suited for work purposes, they aren't steel cap.

      • -2

The are massive boots that stand out big time, also the colour doesn't go well with a lot of clothing. In the end what we should wear for fashion is subjective.

        • +2

They go great with jeans.. here's an inspo album http://imgur.com/a/Qz0df

I mean obviously you wouldn't wear them to a formal event, but as far as streetwear goes they are classic. They look good, keep your feet dry and are comfortable to wear all day.

  • does anyone know if these are TTS?

    • They run large, about 1 size.

    • Size down one, they run large.

  • +3

I've scuffed my timbs on the boulevards of many rough cities…

Timbs were good when they were US made. Now… not so much. Also in regards to sizing, Aussies don't seem to be concerned with what they put on their feet and are careless with size

Take for example this auction. It's for a 10US, but I bet this is a W and not an M which Kogan do not even notify us of. Nor do Surfstich now that I think about it. The 10s they were selling were 10W.

Anyway that's why people think they run large coz when they buy them they just get the W because they think a 10 is a 10. I wear a US 9.5M, I also wear RM Williams in a U.K. 9G…but I am particular with size. Maybe size down half but if you're getting a wide fit and you don't have wide feet they're gonna fit like shit
