So tempting, I'm hoping other stores possibly have stock.
Might have to ring around to the 3 stores locally where I am and see if they're doing the same.

    edit:

Rang around, and apparently the local store has 4 in stock, going to try and give them a bash now

  • How many were left please OP?

  • +1

I was tempted to buy all their stock, as I know I could make a profit on the batteries alone

    • Do you recall how many were remaining thanks

      • There were a couple left at quick glance, the problem was their stock was mixed up and on different shelves/locations

        • Thanks I'll try my luck after work

  • Called Woodville SA and they said not their store, is only applicable on a per store basis and to call each one.

    • +5

All SA stores are Sold Out

      Sorry guys

      Bummer

      • +1

        Cheers for this Oztoffa.

Massive help if you know that stores are sold out so you're not wasting your time.

  • +1

Nicedeal even the 2.5Ah batteries alone are worth it. I have the old blue version of the one+ hammer drill, still going strong after nearly 10 years DIY use.

  • +15

Plenty of stock around but the clearance ticket price is only for the store listed above. Still original price in the system.

  • +2

The only downside is this is not the new brushless version, but still a good deal!

    • +5

and it doesnt include 5 ah batteries, jigsaw, blower vac and multitool…

      • What doesn't?

Which is better ? Brushless or without brush

Checked Canberra stores, they say $199 is the special price as compared to $299 regular

  • I picked up one of these on Monday from my nearest NSW store. It was the last one they had though

    • And the store was…?

  • +2

    Any in WA?

    • +1

Did you find out? Interested in this too!

    • None in Malaga

      • There's a few left at innaloo. I managed to get one, but the store guys needed to clear it with the managers. It's store specific so initially they wouldn't accept the midland receipt either. Goodluck! Worth asking them for the discount for an amazing price.

        • Thanks!

      • I got one at Malaga this arvo. They had stock but it was up high on a shelf. A staff member had to get it for me.

  • +1

    Qld?

PS . Can I use the bar code in the picture to scan at another store?
Or just find a helpful staff member?

  • +1

Yeah.. Moy store has plenty of them.. But at 199 bucks… think need to watch them carefully incase they reduce it to 100 soon.

  • +1

Gone. Please mark deal as expired.

    • There was only 2 to start with lol. Not really sufficient stock

      • There were 4 more on the top shelf in the back. I took one and the others was taken within 5 min of them putting it on the shelf.

  • Out of curiosity, are Ryobi branded tools decent? Always get this cheap-vibe with it, but then again I'm not much of a handy-man.

    • I use the ryobi one+ impact, drill driver, circ saw and line trimmer.

Great kit for the price. I've given Tue drills a workout and the newer 5ah batteries are great.

The original 1.25ah batts were a little low on duration, but great for light weight movement for low intensity stuff.

    • My brother and I have had a 18v ryobi power drill, impact wrench & grinder for a number of years. We use them a lot for working on cars and fabrication.

They're used pretty regularly and aren't treated lightly. They're dinged, scratched and covered in grease.

      Never had an issue.
Only recently did we have one of the original 1.3ah batteries die.

If you were a tradie using them every day though then you'd be fit to look elsewhere.

    • The brushless Ryobi are the same as the AEG brushless - also owned by same company, Techtronic Industries

    • They are quite good for DIY. Bosch green are a bit better but second to Ryobi in breadth of accessories. I own both.

If you are going to drill into masonry you really need the rotary drill. Having said that the Bosch stanard kit drill is surprisingly good in hammer/impact mode. They don’t even market it as a hammer drill.

Nothing says DIY like a plastic chuck on a battery drill , but these seem ok for general use

  • FYI Just bought 1 and 1 left for sale. 4 has been reserved.

    • by the 1 Broden :P

  • +3

Plenty left at my local - Carrum Downs

    • All gone now at Carrum Downs, I called about 40 mins ago

  • Three years for the battery makes it more attractive for DIY

  • ehhhh almost wanna pull the trigger, but im really waiting for a damn brushless hammer drill! been waiting long timee

  • +2

Have just checked with Bunnings here in SA
    No stock left…

    SA is Sold Out

    Bugger!

    • And if you fitted a prop you could have had a fan in summer ,
      OR
if you put it in the wind,
      it would charge up?

  • +1

$199 at my local in Newcastle area

Why are people so obsessed with the value of batteries? (broden mate you're excluded :P)

I mean I get it, to buy the batteries is expensive, but personally I would never buy loose batteries anyway as it just doesn't seem worth it. I've always gotten my tools in kits as part of getting more batteries. So instead of like "the tool is basically free with the batteries", I tend to think of it the other way around; the batteries come at a much more realistic/reasonable price.

    • For example I often use a ryobi grinder for extended periods of time.

I don't need to buy an impact driver to make my grinder run longer. I need to buy more batteries.

      • I'd buy the impact driver anyway if I didn't have one and came with a decent battery :P
(only at kit price worthy of OzBargain ofcourse)

Can never have enough tools ;)
And I'm not even much of a handyman lol

    • +1

They're not obsessed with the batteries, they're obsessed with selling them on eBay for profit.

      • +2

That is the problem with some ozbargainers, not here for a bargain but profit :/

  • +2

Warranties on these cordless tools are full of loopholes

    • No-moregaps zil fix that

    • +2

I was told at Bunnings, if I bought a Ryobi tool using a Bunnings Trade Card ( to get the mighty 5 percent discount) , the tool came with no warranty, as it is not sold as a trade tool. Worth knowing if you're aiming for the 6 year warranty.

      • +4

They legally can't do that. You'll find nothing as such in writing either on the ryobi or bunnings website. They just make their staff say it. But legally they can't forfeit a warranty.

      • I was returning a drill, used for light trade use, 22 months into the 2 year warranty. The guy was adamant about the warranty issue, when I showed him that the receipt was showing a straight cash sale, he happily and promptly gave me a new skin. Don't need the drama for the seven dollar saving.

      • +2

There is NO DISCOUNT on DIY tools with powerpass.

        • So is there a distinction between a DIY tool and a trade tool? If there's no discount for Ryobi with a powerpass card, then problem is solved I guess. Just use cash or credit and keep the powerpass in the pocket.

        • @onetrickpony:
Yep, that's a good way or distinguishing between the trade and diy tools.

  • +1

Can anyone confirm that these are available in NSW for the same price?

    • +1

$199 from the NSW stores that I checked

    • +1

This price is store specific not state nor nation wide.

  • +2

Don't let them tell you there's no warranty if its used commercially. Tell them that would be illegal.

  • +1

    199 from Ashfield, NSW

  • +1

Was just there at Box Hill. All gone sadly missed out :(

  • $199 at Narellanl, refused price match

  • +9

Went to Midland WA. $199 ticketed. Showed them the Ozbargain post, got 2 for $100 each. About 4 left.

    • You did well! My store said no jazz and that they had only just reduced to 199. Like others have said, the store stated it is store specific so well done!

    • Can you post the receipt?

    • +1

      Got one! Thanks!

      • where from please? Midland WA store?

        • +1

Midland WA. They did have to call the manager but it was fine after that. Not sure if I got the last one or not… but hopefully you have some luck!

  • 179 from Pagewood NSW

  • Got the last one in stock at Nunawading which I called and put on hold 30 mins before going to the store. Vermont south said they had stock but were $199. They said maybe check next week when their stock level was lower and management will reduce to $99.

    • So , the price on Nunawading is $99 ?

      • yes

        • -1

          No

  • Im happy with my Bosch kit with the drill and torch and 2 batteries for $50 on the discount rack :D

  • Are these 18Volt equipment good or 20V's are much better.

    • +1

      Sure you don't mean 36V?
There's no actual difference between "18V" and "20V" equipment; they're all using the same basic lithium cell. Just some companies try and sound fancier by using the maximum 4V rating of lithium cells instead of the typical 3.6V.
