Gran Turismo 5 for ps3. Pre - order for $64.99

Much cheaper than the ~$120 form EB or other retailers.

If you can wait the few days after the release date (2nd Nov) then its definitely worth it.

Not the same as the version being sold at EB Games, this would most likely be the UK version and not the AUS version.

edit: if they say that release date is the 2nd then it's the NA version as the UK is due for release on the 5th and the AUS is due for release on the 4th.

agreed both that it's a good price and with the point above regarding region version, but thought i'd just point out that the only time people would care what region it is, is if you'd ever want to offer the game as trade-in down the line.

    • I'm pretty sure the AUS Collectors and Signature editions are different from other regions with better bonuses.
Other than the collectables I don't think the difference region games are any different other than maybe online play and what servers you connect to.

  • will there be region locking for gt5? Like can a uk version go online and vs aus edition people?

    • UK versions of PS3 games are pretty much the same as the AUS versions. Sometimes games will have both classifications and they will also have the same BLES codes down the spine. So UK games WILL work with the AUS store and any DLC from there.

      • hey. So are you saying the only problem with the uk version is the trade-ins? since everything else works the same as the AUS version?

        • i have never tried trading in a uk game so I am not sure if jb/eb/game would take them.

  • anyone have any idea when the driving force gt will be available for $99 again? It seems it is all sold out at dse… =(

    • Scout Ebay, I got one for $100+$30P/H.

The region has no effect on gameplay at all. It doesn't determine servers based on region the only issue may be that some places dont take overseas games for trade ins.

  • The other issue is that if they ever release say a new course or any other downloadable material it wont work with overseas versions.

I had this problem, being unable to download the new map pack for MW2 because I have the North American version.

    • DLC will work with UK versions though

      • agreed, i have UK-version of Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box, and it worked with locally purchased DLC on Aussie PSN.

ozgameshop don't always send you UK PAL versions though. I bought Red Dead Redemption for the 360 off them, and it was a Hong Kong NTSC-J version (compatible and in English but NTSC) so this could be NTSC too. They don't specify.

    • can you like just make an american psn to download the map pack for the game? I heard it somewhere on whirlpool. Like create an oversea account and use it to buy dlc for your game.

      • I've heard about doing this but I'm pretty sure that if they find out they'll delete that account as well as your Australian one.

          Umm.. No

I have had a US, AU, and JPN account since day one of PS3… and still have them.

As for this deal, I have preordered this game with DVD.CO.UK for ~$61.29 AUD excluding VAT (obviously) and including shipping.

The price displayed on DVD.CO.UK is INC VAT.

          • @MdMa7: of course u can make other countries accounts. as like MdMa7 i have a JPN, USA, and Hong Kong account to get different demos etc. You can get the DLC off those stores but to make the purchase you need a PSN card for that store or that countries credit card because they dont accept AUS credit cards or PSN cards. When i was in the US last i got myself a $50 PSN card for purcases Id like to make, becuase the games are heaps cheaper on their store.

And to add to MdMa7, i have also preordered form DVD.CO.UK. Cheapest on the net i rekon!

I'm going to wait until it actually get released. since this is a game that every PS3 owner has been waiting for, I'm sure BigW or K-mart will have it on sale for a great price :)

    • For like $30 more than this good price.

This version has no problem running on any PS3. Buy it here for cheap.

    Meh. It's only $50 at JB HiFi…
Trade in 3 for the preorder. Buy Ironman2, harry potter HBP, fear 2 or red faction 2 on the buy 2 get one free deal for $45-50 then trade them for the preorder. And you get it on the day or at midnight launch.

    • Super tip, plus one for you.

I also got mine for $50 at JB but by buying a PS3 at the same time :)

    • Hey Zegga, where is the buy 2 get 1 free deal from again?

edit: nvm, I went to JB yesterday and saw the offer.

  • Well you could until today.. they changed the damn exclusion list.

  • I pre-ordered the super-special collectors edition for $300. Maybe regretting it seeing these prices…

    • I'm pretty sure you should be able to still cancel… Unless you really want your $250 coffee table book and die cast mercedes.

$1AUD = $0.967USD If only we could play US games here

      • We can play US games here, all PS3 games are region free, just that some of the content or servers are restricted to certain regions

    • Considering pre-orders only cost you $10 to make
cancel and consider the price of this to $75?

  • AU$61 - Zavvi with 10% off code I received in email

  • ordered 2 yay

  • How reliable is this (online)store?

  • very reliable, I've shopped with them (365games) for around 18 months now, no problems

also try zavvi.com and dvd.co.uk, both very good

  • hey guys

has anyone received an email from them yet confirming dispatch?

    • i doubt you will get one for a while it hasnt been released yet , this is not a game to preorder as it keeps getting delayed
