Hello everyone,

I just received an email from Amazon US about Prime Exclusive Deals. I noticed that the Samsung S8 + Samsung Gear VR W/Controller - Latest Edition (US Version with Warranty) + Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Convertible Stand W/ AFC Wall Charger (US Version with Warranty) are offering (together) for 624.99 USD. I checked delivery to Sydney and it comes out to be $652.61 USD. Now there is an import fee deposit but since it is less than $1,000 AUD, so the 91.52 USD import fee will be refunded. I have used the inflated figure just to assume the worse case.

Disclosure: I am not sure of the differences in model for these items so make sure you do your research prior to buying!

  • Doesn't ship to Australia?

    • Are you sure? It allows me go to the checkout screen. It also allows me to select delivery option with Australia's address. Might want to check it again?

      • Item description says it doesn't but that's not uncommon on Amazon. Can get to checkout so it definitely does ship here. Very good price with all the accessories.
If they had the plus in a similar desk I'd have pulled the trigger.

What i have done heaps of times with prime only deals is subscribe to prime and pay the fee if you cancel the same day or a few days later you get a full refund on the prime membership.

regardless if you used the prime offers and item has shipped or in pending shipment status.

Being the US model Galaxy S8 or SM-950G it is basically incompatible with nearly all of our 4G networks.
    These are the Supported bands
Note the lack of; B1,B3,B7,B8,B28 & B40 it does support B5 - 850 MHz so if you're on Vodafone it might be viable otherwise not.

  • AUS model is superior to the US in terms of performance and battery life
Look up Exynos 8895 (AUS) VS Snapdragon 835 (US)

  • Snapdragon version so not worth it. Also looks like it's missing many bands.

  • I know it's expired but what do you mean about refund on the import fee? It was $1000 Max to exclude gst, but since July 1 did this not change to like $10?
