I wonder if this will work with the nintendo switch?

    • Came into comments to find out myself

    • It would require drivers to communicate.

      I doubt it.

  • Perth customers can walk in

I'm on the NSW North coast, can I still walk in?

    • +3

Sure, plan your walk meticulously; otherwise, you'll reach the shop when its closed.
Dont forget to take few weeks of annual leaves. Employers can be very cranky when you fail to show up for weeks.

    • You're becoming OzB's new jv.

      • I want to be a new Tightarse.

  • For those with a Surface Pro, these work just as good as the official MS Surface Ethernet Adapter.
I've confirmed this myself with more than one Surface.

    • Excellent, came to find this out. Never really sure with the underpowered USB port on the Surafce.

This, or the Ugreen USB 3.0 Hub 3 Ports with Gigabit 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet Network, which is a similar price delivered, and has the extra 3 x USB 3.0 ports?

    • My guess is that the Hub will not be able to simultaneously power all ports without an external power supply (which it doesn't have).
So the Hub will probably work for low power devices (eg. Mouse) and devices with external power (eg. desktop external drives) but not too many portable external drives.

  • Would these work from boot?

    • What do you mean?

      • Boot from LAN i think i think might be the underlying question.

        • I've been caught in a catch-22 a couple of times with a fresh install, can't download a network driver without a network driver.

Of course I now plan ahead and ensure I drivers on USB, but nice to have something that is plug and play.

        • @LoopyLou:

Windows should just install a generic or older driver to allow you to go online.

Unless you have some sort of weird hardware.

        • @Scab:
From recollection the $7 from Msy the other week had some kind of virtual CDRom built in with drivers. No idea about this one.

  • Supposedly the model is discontinued. Does anyone know the difference then with the newer model?

    • The UE330 also has 3 USB 3.0 ports.
