Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum Cleaner for $383.16 Delivered (HK) @ Shopping Square on eBay

200
CTAX20

EDIT: As noted by g33kydood, it's cheaper to buy from here using code "CRACKER". Works out to be $367.16 and shipped from Melbourne. Mod please edit/remove post as you see fit.

Same price as this deal (Although not as good as the CHOPCHOP deal). Bought one from it, arrived in 13 days and I've been impressed with how well it cleans.

Seeing many Ozbargainers are on the verge (or already had) of lodging Paypal dispute from the RoboGuy deal you can get one from here instead (and cheaper no less).

  • I've been watching this vac. Price wenr down to 435, in between the 15% codes that have been popping up.

  • Can someone who has one please let me know how these work in two story house? can it do one story one day and then put it on other level the next without too much hassle? Thanks :)

    • Build a slide for it

Jokes aside I don't see a problem with that as long as you don't mind physically moving it and its station every day.

      • I'm guessing if you move from upstairs to downstairs it will keep forgetting its daily route? My plan is to with having 2 units, just need my first one though.

        • +1

It doesn't remember anything - it maps a new route every time using the lidar scanner. I have a 2 storey house & just put it upstairs when required - don't worry about moving the base station. You just manually place it back when it's finished upstairs.

It would be great if it did have a learning algorithm & could see when usb cables, singlets, etc are on the floor as it loves to chew these things up. It does stop though & send you a message via the app to untangle the brush.

But for the current tech & price doesn't really matter that it doesn't remember the 'daily route'. The scanner is amazingly accurate & you don't have to worry if you've moved a piece of furniture or your gym bag is on the floor, etc. Just remember to pick up small cables & things & it does a great job.

These new prices are great as well - I paid $500 a few months back!

        • @vrKiter: how does it perform on carpet? My upstairs is riddled with USB cables so guess it's not suitable aye, if I have to keep tidying up cables I might as well just use the Dyson.

        • +1

@zorrt: Just grab some cable conduit and pop the cables through it and the vacuum will have no problem.
Or, I've gotten little sticky back plastic hooks to keep bits off the floor as well that you can close/open the hook to add/remove more cables - does the trick!

          @zorrt:

We have fairly plush carpet and it seems to get confused for some reason thinking the brush is clogged when it's not.

So I have to force resume it a number of times. Not that big a deal if I'm home but annoying if I've gone out.

Downstairs on the polished concrete works great.

    • It'll be fine.
You just pick it up and plop it down wherever and turn it on.
It only looks for it's station when it's low on battery and even then, it just tells you "can't locate station" when that happens… so no need to move both every time.

It also doesn't really matter regarding the daily route - it'll just go around perimeter of any new room and work it's way inwards to learn the area.
I regularly move mine between rooms and lock it into the room so it can't get out - it doesn't have a problem with it at all.

A couple of times I've chucked it up onto a bare mattress to let it vacuum up loose dog hairs…. has no problems and senses the edges of the mattress so doesn't fall off!

haha this seems to be the general feel all over these deals.

    • Wow I didn't expect to see my post here haha. Up until now I still haven't received a response/refund from them, absolute headache to deal with. From this whole experience and knowing how dodgy they are, I wouldn't be surprised if they resold my faulty vacuum to another poor guy.

  • Ordered a 10000 Xiaomi battery from shopping square not delivered, they gave a bulltish tracking number to paypal, could not provide proof of delivery, case closed and never received goods. Will never buy off them again.

    • I have similar situation. The power bank never arrived and SS asked me to close Paypal dispute and agreed to refund me providing I sign a refund request form that states I agree to return the item if it is eventually delivered.

      • Similar situation with their Xiaomi xiaofang camera deal. Item was taking ages to arrive and they wanted people to sign that form before issuing a refund. The consensus was not to sign it. I didn't sign it and still received a refund from PayPal. My item did end up arriving and I did pay them back but it did cross my mind to not pay them because they had been so overly defensive to the point of being a pain.

    • wow you should post that!

      • Yes, this definitely should be posted as the deal.
Use code CRACKER for 15% off and it comes to $367
Australian stock and importantly has 12 months Australian warranty.

        • Lol Australian warranty…. If the product isn't officially sold in Australia don't expect easy warranty claims, more likely to never hear from them

        • @Dezeption:

the seller does have very good feedback though

        • +1

@quickling: well you'll receive the product, leave positive feedback then 2 month down the track when it's faulty you'll have trouble making any claim. The only advantage is quick delivery if its not drop shipping

        • 99.7% on Ebay is pretty good. Of course there will be some risk with something like this - Australian warranty most likely means return to the seller who then sends it back to China.
Shopping Square Ebay listing says they only provide 6 months warranty. Each to their own, I guess.

        • @jkt:

paypal dispute started with roboguy and just got this instead…
          sigh…

    • Doesnt work with the 20% off code so its more expensive

      • +1

It works with CRACKER if you haven't used it

        • Ahh yep, $367.16 with that code

I'd be wondering about this company and if you actually 'found' this deal when I found this PM waiting for me when I logged in tonight, obviously wasn't meant for me but I somehow mistakenly was sent it from their rep!

  • I ordered one from Shopping square a couple of weeks back.. Arrived in less than 2 weeks. Great little vac.

  • Make sure you don't leave a ball of wool on floor as does the tangle tango before giving up and stopping! Robot very easy to untangle. Had it for months. Great time saver.

    • How does it do with rugs. Is it able to climb onto a rug about 2cm from a hardwood floor?

  • I started following the original RoboGuy forum post when the group-buy had around 20 orders: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/304963

Boy am I glad I didn't jump on that RoboGuy deal… it was particularly weird seeing RoboGuy morph the group-buy into a 'Mothers Day Special' and started using car salesman language to promote his deal.

    • Yes you're lucky you didn't jump on that deal. Can't believe I've waited 2 months for a vacuum only to be told on a forum I'd need to wait another month at the very least.

Saying that I've already ordered one from shopping square nearly 2 weeks ago and they only shipped it last Friday after I asked them why the order status still says not shipped. Not entirely happy with that (due to the experience with roboguy deal) but at least it should get here with a couple weeks.
