Worked for me as well! Last time I used Google Play Music was quite a few months back though.
I didn't even need a code.
I already have a Google account (& pay for extra storage) so clicked on Google Music link - selected more options - signed into Google - then Google Music page offered me 4 month trial to sign up.
Clicked Sign Up, it asked to use my current payment method, agreed, all done!

Yep, if you're already signed in on the account you want to use, the link takes you straight to the page.

Good point! I tried accessing Google Music with my other Google login (not using the link) and it only offers new users a 2 months trial plus couldn't see a Youtube Red offer (unless I didn't go far enough ?).

Beware when you you cancel the subscription there are two steps to go through. I messed up the last time and ended up having to pay one month for a service that I never used.
And those steps are…?
Cancel from Google Music, then it will redirect you to Google play, then click cancel subscription again and confirm.

Just spoke to Google, you can actually sign up for new promo's with existing accounts as long as they are 12months between promo's.
Existing expired accounts I assume, not ones that have current subscriptions?

i know i'm bit late to the google music scene - but how does it work? with this 4mths membership can I download a truckload of songs and get to listen to them after my trial has expired? what about the 50,000 songs that you can apparently upload to google music??
You can download on google music mobile app and listen to it.. but only while you have subscription.
The ones you upload - you can listen to them without subscription I believe.

You can get apps that allow you to copy the raw music to have a "backup".

Oh dayum, they're allowing email addresses taht are not actually gmail now. This is the first time it has worked with my own domain name that is set up through gmail- it's my main android account, but never worked for play music and youtube red before, always told me I needed a @gmail account.

My credit card expired so I let it lapse, waited 3 weeks then was able to sign up for the single plan free for 4 months. Maybe it was because I was paying the family plan before this. I can't see a way to get these 4 months onto the family plan for free.

Hi, I used to subscribe to this for a year or two, then made the switch to apple for a year, and used apple music as it was included in my contract, I just went back to Android, and used this with my gmail account that I used last time. It also worked, thanks, I am not a new subscriber, I also got my mate to test where his subscription had just lapsed. It also worked for him. So it seems you dont need to be a new subscriber.
