Breville BTA825SHB Smart Toast 2 Slice Toaster $95.20 Delivered @ KG Electronic on eBay

My girlfriend & I bought Trent and Steele toaster and kettle from harvey norman. Kettle works fine for the minute but toaster is destined for the tip. After fairly extensive research & time wasted at work. I feel the Breville although pricey for a toaster has the best reviews & has features that rival more expensive brands Feature 1: A bit more, as the name suggests it browns the bread a little more to make it perfect Feature 2: Lift and look feature, again as the name suggests you can lift the bread to check how it is going with interrupting the cooking. Checked Price hipster, don't think this has been this cheap before. $125 at harvey norman if you have vouchers

If I'm paying $100 for a toaster I want it to be see-through!

Dude so not worth it LOL

    • Yeh the seller is a bit dodgy but hopefully works out

      • I've dealt with this seller and not had a problem. I can not speak for others. My product was delivered quickly and packed well. Had the item for about a year.

  • Any decent, cheap toasters?

    • Just bought a home&CO 2 slice toaster from Kmart today for $7.50. Cheapest of the usual places: Target, BigW, Spotlight. So what if it only lasts a few years, I'm still ahead. I just need it to toast my bread, I don't need it to make me a whole sandwich. My previous one from Aldi which I think was $12 at the time lasted me 5 or 6 years.

Does it evenly toast (not burn) bread?

        • I can tell you tomorrow. My friend has one and he says it's good value. My old Aldi one was fine too.

        • @tightwad: Just made satisfactory toast for a snack on a cold night. You understand of course that this is a totally dumb model: no optical sensing of toast colour so you have to adjust for different breads, no spring frame to centre the bread, no smart features. But it does what I want.

        • @greenpossum:

          Great. Thanks!

    • I'd go either Breville bit more or Sunbeam Maestro. I can go cheaper just say the word

  • Please suggest a 4 slice toaster guys

    looking to buy this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Breville-BTA440BSS-The-Bit-Mo…

    • I've seen some lousy reviews for that…forget where sorry…

      • Thanks, anything else worth looking under $80

Choice toaster reviews - stolen from here

Here's the Bellini recommended for $50. Wow.

    • Thank you

Thats junk I bought it for my mum. I promise not being a hole

  • What about this if you can wait till August. Not sure it's smart. It might be dumb. Dumb toaster.

  • Wouldn't touch an electronic toaster ever again. Have one and the digital setting is stuck on level 1 setting. Electronics and heat do not mix.

So when I toast I have to 'repeat toast' the same bread over and over for the desired result. It's not trust old too.

Don't use it that often so can't justify replacing and just put up with it.

I bought the 4-slice version of this Toaster about 18 months ago from Myer.

    Best. Toaster. Ever.

Been very happy with it.. works a treat. My parents bought the same toaster a few months later, and they love theirs too. People who have stayed from overseas have been impressed.

The "A bit more" button is great.. as often you need that extra 30 seconds on the first toast of the day in winter.

Best of all - no need to strike a ninja pose every time the toast "pops" up - as its basically silent except for a beep at the end !

    • Wait until the lights start flashing and you have to throw it out….Happened to me and a lot of others.

      • I think its got a 2yr warranty ?
Id expect at least 3 years (more like 5 yrs) out of a $100 toaster (10 times the price of a "cheap" toaster) re "lasting for a reasonable period of time" under the Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA).
