    Postage to my door $7.50

Worst deal I think I have ever seen on here.

  • $7.50 postage to my address too. $10.50 for an Eco Bag?!?! FAIL. Not a bargain! Perhaps offer free shipping. It doesn't cost that much to ship a bag.

  • Deep postage fail.

  • Postage excessively expensive.

  • It sometimes amazes me how some retailers here think they are doing us a favour by their pricing and postage costs. All it does is reinforce the notion that they are expensive, and any deal that they do in the future is going to be a ripoff. Great publicity. These guys should just goaway. This is NOT their market here.

And btw why would I buy one of these SHOPPING bags and pay $7.50 ($12.40 express), when I can pick one up for 70c when I am SHOPPING. They look cute but I am a bargain shopper, not some drugged up actor, singer or sports star.

The mods should just ban these guy's … ROFL

  • Yes postage does seem a little bit steep for just one bag(unfortunately the eParcel service Gifted sends their parcels via is not the cheapest, however all parcels are insured and fully trackable), the point of the offer is to offer the Eco Bags at a significantly reduced price and I am sure that anyone who is interested in the Eco Bags would be looking to purchase more than one at a time. When you consider that gifted already offers the cheapest prices around a price of just $3 (when other retainers are charging three or four times as much for the same bag) is a bargain.

    • Reducing from $4.50 to $3 isn't a "significantly reduced price" IMO.

  • You are right, significant was a very poor choice of word. But I suppose a discount is a discount.

    • 'Discount' is very subjective and personally, I think the meaning is useless as anyone can claim to be giving discounts. The more important question is, is it the cheapest?

I understand that the overheads for Australian operated stores are higher and you need to make some money. But marking up the prices significantly, then give a small discount isn't really really beneficial for consumers.

      For example:

      gifted store - $3.00 + 7.50 postage
      DealExtreme - ~$2.90 + free postage.

      You do the Math.

  • Thank you to everyone for your comments. As you can see from my profile this is only my third post and I am still learning :). I will make sure that future offers for individual items include the postage cost.

Pauly, just one quick point as I don't want you thinking that Gifted mark up prices prior to offering a discount. Gifted is the cheapest in Australia for most of its products and the Eco Bags we sell, while not as cheap as the Hong Kong based company you mention, are still the cheapest in Australia even at their standard price.

    • Fair enough, but just a tip before posting in future, perhaps you may wish to do some research on the pricing of the product you're posting first. Normally when members can source the same product for cheaper elsewhere after postage and all (Australia or overseas), the deal you post may most likely get negative responses.
