Why on earth would you want a 35" monitor with only a 2560x1080 resolution? :-/

    • +1

it's an ultrawide screen, it'd be good for movies and video games, and at that resolution, you wouldn't need to have the 1080ti GPU to actually use it ;)

      • +2

My 1070 runs basically every game high-max settings and 60fps on a 1440p ultrawide.

But everyone should consider an Ultrawide. Its by far the most impressive looking and immersive upgrade you can do for PC gaming.
Still get the wow factor playing games when I've had it for 6 months.

        • +1

I'll argue that point - I reckon a VR headset like the HTC vive is even more impressive ;)

        • I'm on a 980ti which is almost the same performance as the 1070 getting around 40-50fps in Steep on max settings. Sooo, not every game.

Then there is ARK which is like 20fps.

    • Any higher resolution than this, and you don't get the same high refresh rates ideal for gaming (i.e. >100Hz). Most of the higher resolution monitors these days don't go any higher than 60Hz.

      • Huh? Plenty of 1440P monitors do, but yes the 4K ones (generally) don't. I'm not saying to not get a 1080P monitor, but at 35" that's a crazy low resolution to have especially when sitting as close as you do to it.

    This'll make Minecraft look good?

    1080p in 2017

    • -3

It's more like 1440p (well, almost)

    • +4

If you're getting a 144Hz monitor, you probably care more about frame rate than resolution.

      • but it is a wide screen as well

        • Touche.

    rip off

      Hey nubzy,

This is actually the cheapest we've found Australia wide for this monitor (StaticIce link below):
      BenQ XR3501 @ StaticIce

Is there somewhere locally, that you've possibly seen it cheaper?

      • thank you jw for a great deal

        • +2

          You're welcome ABUKEE!

        • @JWComp:

          I purchased one =)

Do you assist or BenQ if the Monitor arrives with Dead/Stuck Pixels?

  • No 3D? Not gimmicky enough.

    • yeah, no RGB or temper glass

  • not even 4k hdr, not good enough

    • +1

Needs dot matrix and Gsync/freesync too.

  • Whats the point of a 144hz monitor without gsync or freesync?

    • +2

what is the point of having high hz and sync at the same time?

      • Gaming and to avoid screen tearing. You won't be able to drive constant 144hz.

        • -1

high hz (so i assume high FPS already)

in that case, no sync needed, or waste of money

        • +1

          @Hornpub:

I don't think you get it

        • @cyrax83: with high fps (high Hz at the same time) the tearing is already minimal. you get it?

        • @cyrax83:

maybe just me, been using my 144hz for 2 years.

with 300fps in fps game. i dont notice/care that tearing, when i turn on gsync, the tearing is gona(well that is what sync do). but the added input lag just not worth it in my book.

          400$144hz
500$144hz+sync, ill take the 400$ anyday.

where as if your GPU isnt able to push that high fps, any sync is recommanded.

        • @Hornpub: not just u, me 2
Tearing is not noticeable at 144hz and G-sync just adds more latency anyway

review to make up your mind

    • Yeah nah. Super cheap for a super expensive monitor with super compromises nearing the end of a super product lifecycle.

      • +3

        Super wrap up

IPS, Freesync and saves you a few dollars (if you use the same code) if anyone is after that. You do trade in 1 inch and get a less aggressive curve (Can be pro or con depending on who you ask).

    • ended up getting this for $710 using ctax code :D

the hdmi 2.0 and ips swayed me

    • Hard one..

  • No thanks, I don't like my pixels an inch wide.

  • +1

Thanks OP, Looked at the LG IPS also on sale in person and seemed dull so went with BenQ

  • code expired

  • This is a little unfair as I paid $719.20 and its not even been posted due to no new stock and now its available for $594.15 with the 15% and your relisted price..

    =(

    • cancel your previous order and order it again

      • JW are awesome!!! George is a legend for contacting me back and resolving the issue.

        A+ for customer service. :)
