  • Sorry noob here

I have relatively small wrists, will the band fit comfortably?

    • +1

what is small (usually measures in inches)? 40mm width and 13mm thick is a traditional size for a diver. Rolex sub is 40mm. This will fit fine, even on a small wrist.

        Thanks m8

      It would after removing links.

      • Very misleading advice!!! Depends on case size. Some cases will be wider than some people's wrist.

        • We know the case size (40mm) and Member Jason Genova knows the size of his wrist. Is there another way to make the band fit comfortably?

        • If the diameter of the case is disproportionate to the length of his wrist, then it can't be made comfortable, which in case you should look for a smaller watch, obviously.

I fell into the same trap with the IWC big pilot, which is only 6mm longer in case diameter and is classified as a huuge watch.

@zailiner: I would hardly call PJC's comment very misleading. Jason said his wrist is relatively small so it's fair to assume his wrists are less than 7in, but not girly. This is a 40mm watch with a 48mm lug to lug measurement and curved lugs that will taper to the wrist. These measurements are a conservative size by today's standards. You don't hear people commenting that a Rolex sub (to which this is a homage of) is too big (just the DSSD) and diver genre watches are designed to wear larger than a dress or sports watch.

You mention your IWC (nice watch by the way) is only 6mm longer. In watch terms, an extra 6mm is massive! Yes, I know pilots are supposed to be large too. If you want an example of a watch that will have lugs hanging over the wrist, look no further than a Steinhart Ocean 1. Despite its totally wearable 42mm, its case is extremely flat with very minimal taper.

At this price point, Jason should go for it and remove links. It's an easy eBay flip if he doesn't like it.

        • @ilikeit:

Very good points, I stand corrected.

Nice looking watches these, if only they had sapphire lenses. I've scratched too many crystal watches.

  • What's the difference between Invicta 17039 Pro-Diver and the Invicta Pro-Diver 8926? Looks the same to me.

    • 8926, 17039 & 17044 are all the same as far as I can tell.

Automatics lose a few seconds every day. Quartz are much more accurate, cheaper and not so ridiculously big.

The only problem with the Invicta quartz is that the crown doesn't screw down and I've accidentally changed/stopped the time a few times. Apart from that it's absolutely perfect.

That I-Force is tempting. Amazon claim the window is Sapphire Crystal but Invicta do not. https://www.invictawatch.com/watches/detail/22947-

    • "Crystal/Lens - Mineral (Flame Fusion, which means sapphire coated)". I think the dimensions are slightly large for a dress watch, hard to ignore the specs though for a cheapy.

  • is the bezel the only difference between the 9403 and 17039 ?

  • Bought the 17039 ….. I'm not a big fan of auto watches due to the cost of servicing every 5 years so they keep time, but at this price I will give it a go …….. nobody seems to complain of the quality, and I have some ecodrives already for diving.
the 8926 OB is interesting but the serration around the bezel doesn't make it look shirt cuff friendly, where as the 17039 had smoother edges around bezel.

guess the 8926OB had that "vintage rolex / tudor look".

    • The bezel is Omega Seamaster 300 'inspired.' It's a sub/seamaster love child.

Who told you a Seiko Auto has to be serviced every 5 years?

From what I have read they should last 20-25 years before needing a service.

      • +1

seiko autos are disposable at under $100

no need to service, just buy a new one and even so, how do you know if they need service? They either work or they dont.
