One thing to note is that CX price match other Australian travel agency website.
While this is still $1 more expensive than price beat via Flight Centre, booking directly with the airline means you don't have to pay FC's handling fees on top of the airline's fees if you ever need to change or cancel your flights.
with these prices I think I might just go with qantas… or heck even virgin …

These prices are not particularly cheap (& their economy product is not particularly good). Only good thing about flying CX to HKG is the timing of their flights.
Hi Rep, you need price match the other 4 cities to Melbourne's price. Then we have a deal.
Just wait until everything is integrated with Virgin and Hong Kong Express / Hainan.. Cathay will be kicking up a stink like they did with Jetstar Hong Kong and do everything they can to stop the bilateral. However, even a one stop via Cairns or Cooloongatta, is going to put pressure on CX and QF to drop prices to HK, like they have in Melbourne.

Not amazing prices but not bad. Cathay is a nice airline, got a few business class redemption flights coming up with them later in the year - cannot wait!
