  • Which version is this? Is it the bluetooth one?

    • They are all bluetooth

He probably meant the new one that came with the Pro, with the extra LED window on the touchpad. I think there was a slight other modification to the controller. My experience with it is that it had better battery life than the old one, though I could just be imagining it.

        • You are correct the revision does last longer. Would be preferable.

        • @Jarvard: I was wondering if that was true or just my imagination. I would play for maybe 4 hours and then charge via USB connected to my desktop (0.5A) and it would fully charge in about half an hour which was quick after 4 hours of use. If I played for only 1 hour, I plugged in the cable and found it didn't need to charge at all. It would blink orange for a few seconds then no light, which means it didn't need charging.

The old one would run out of batteries after a few hours.

        • Version 2 has usb support and version 1 always charges with usb but connects via bluetooth.

Don't buy this. It's the old version.
They updated the controller following feedback from the public. You don't want this model.

That's a bit dramatic. The original controller was fine. The new one has just been perfected

      • +1

Depends on the price difference between this one and the old one. If you can get the new one for $10 more, I'd probably go that version.

    • The new version supports USB (you can connect to the PS4 USB port or PC USB port). Apparently, USB has less latency compared to Bluetooth.

But, if the v1 is much cheaper, then it is still worth considering.

      • What's the hassle?

I have a V1 that connects perfectly over USB to my PC?

        • For PC, there is no real advantage for v2. Only on PS4 that v2 allows wired control (I have v2, but I mainly use it wirelessly).

These guys sell fake controllers. See my feedback from previous. High quality fakes, but fake. They never even disputed the facts when I had proof that they are detected on the computer and Linux as fake, they removed the controller listings and relisted as official genuine again a few days later. Avoid buying from these repo guys but if you absolutely must, connect it up to your pc to confirm its authenticity …for PS3 the controllers are actually SHANWAN branded fakes,

    • How can you check?

      • +1

for Windows, you can install a program called SCP. It will popup a message as it's detected the controller of what the brand actually is and all the associated hardware ID's.

On Linux, lsusb will show that it's a fake. You can also check the model number on the sticker of the controller, which is likely to be linked to fakes if you google it.

When I sent them a message asking wtf they sell fakes as 'GENUINE AUTHENTIC' I got a reply "we are sorry you feel this way, I can send you another one.. but it's going to be the same as what you have now" they did end up refunding me, after a month or two through eBay/PayPal dispute, but it's not the point that they list 'AUTHENTIC' 'GENUINE' when they know they sell fakes.

Best thing to anyone that does buy a control from these guys is test the hardware as soon as you receive it with either SCP or in Linux (your retropie setup will tell you when you do the controller setup via bluetooth or even usb too!)

        • Bought one will test when arrives. Wish i never smashed the other one
