I have been using this app too and very happy with it
This is very good for recording concerts as it allows for stereo recording (depending on your phone) which many voice recorder apps don't have.
Really? I guess you have to turn the gain way down though right?
Most phone mics just get so overloaded by the loudness at concerts,
but I see on this you can adjust the levels so that should be ok ..
Just grabbed this, can't really go wrong for 20 cents :)
Sorry,I was more referring to classical music concerts
I hope you're using an external mic when you're recording concerts. My ears would bleed if the mic on my Android phone was used, regardless of what whiz-bang app was used to record it.
I usually do, but i'll give this a go with gain way down,
on a show Í dont really care about recording, see how it turns out..
Not to mention that any stereo effect would be completely lost unless you were right up there at the stage or had very directional mics.
Thank you for this!
My favourite saying, "next level". I'm in!
Great app, good encoding quality, can't go wrong even at the full price let alone 20c. Also records Wav/Flac as welll as Ogg/aac
Supports the "Front" Mic on my S7 so I just hold the top of the phone towards ths speaker and reaslts are great. Also has a widget for instant recording from the homescreen. Really handy tool.
Have been using this for a few years though mine is the "legacy" but otherwise identical version before the dev changed the name.
Is there any benefit in getting this over the one that comes preloaded on my Samsung s7?
The one already on my phone can do stereo recording and 256kbps 48khz. Am I going to be able to tell the difference in quality considering the source is a phone and not a dedicated audio recording device?
The app only does 128kbps AAC, or 320kbps in mp3.
320kbps is roughly equivalent to 192kbps AAC, so the samsund app is better.
The Samsung app wont let you take photos (with the stock app) and record audio at the same time though.
Wonder how this will go with the new HTC U11 with 4 mica for 360degree sound recording!
Why does the app need permissions to know your identity?
Permissions
'read phone status and identity'
More of a speculation than a firm answer, but I suspect it is to see if you are using the phone at the time.
Several counties require an audible notification to be played if a call is being recorded, and so it would invoke the phone status check.
Obviously, the dev could clear up that concern for you, if it was a deal breaker.
Would this be suitable for One Nation meetings?
I don't understand what that means. Please explain…
I have used a few versions of voice recorders on my Android phones and this is the best, by far. This is the Pro version, well worth having!
