  • You could always go instore, and order directly to your home free of charge.

  • Nice!

  • Supports offline single player?

  • Good price, just started playing again last night. Hack and slash <3 .

  • The best game for me

    • Why

  • Is the expansion by itself still available?

Remember the real money auction house?
    Pepperidge Farm remembers.

    • Now, now, there's nothing wrong with the real money auction house… there's just something wrong with those who lost huge sums of money on the real money auction house and couldn't accept the truth about their decisions.

      • Is the non real money auction house still running?

Nope, they shut both down and implemented loot 2.0 plus various other features so your drops are more relevant and trading isn't needed but you also can't borrow 30mil gold from a mate and buy the gear you need from the AHs and have an end game viable build within 24hrs.

          Thus my comment above.

Trading is almost a thing of the past with only a 2hr, in game trade window with those in your party at the time the item dropped. So if you drop something needed by your mate and he's not in game coz he's at work, etc, it can be a very unsatisfying feeling.

The majority of players have moved to playing seasons which usually last for 10 weeks and you start fresh… no gold, materials, gear, paragons when you start a season. But gaining gear, materials and gold is a quick for most part so as long as you play the game (namely bounties, rifts and greater rifts) you will progress without too much frustration, but it also means that if you take a break from time to time (like what my bro does) you have to be willing to time when you start up again with the start of a season if you want people to play with regularly, and have to put in effort to respec. If your mates want to get you specced up for some end game play (because they're paragon 1000+, have all ancient/primal items and one shot everything in lower difficulties) it takes longer than it use to in vanilla with the lack of an AH. As someone who is a trained economist, with how easy it is to gear and get gold these days, I see no reason why the AHs shouldn't be kept in - though maybe with a lower cap on prices so those with undisciplined sending habits don't go broke from a game…. If people don't want to spend money or gold buying gear… there's no reason to but end game players who have got godly gear have a place they can "giveaway" good gear that's not an upgrade for them.

These days, the highest game difficulty is a push over too and if it wasn't for the endless difficulty scaling in greater rifts, the game would have 0 challenge now. Running grifts does get tiresome. I do miss Inferno MP10 uber runs and Crypt Runs.

  • Isn't that just typical, I bought Diablo3 and the expansion yesterday for $15 each :)

Still good value for $25 or $30 :)

There's always gonna be a better deal.

But if it helps ease the pain, I bought the collectors edition for both games costing me over $200 in total but have gotten over 5yrs of play out of the game (almost non-stop play… though I've eased up a bit in the past 6 months). It's a better game than what many people say and all new players I've interacted with in game over the past two years have all said that it's a good game and wish they've gotten into it sooner.

I would spend time exploring the game on your own before following guides for end game build… you'll get more out of it. People who jump straight into the end game bypass a whole experience that I spent a whole year enjoying with every class in the game.

  • Thanks mate, I was at the shops and saw this post in my email so decided "What the heck" and just bought it on a whim. Never played Diablo 3 or seen any gameplay so I hope this is good.

Popped off to ebay today to purchase, opened game box - NO CD KEY.

Game client doesn't even work off the CDs for full game installation anymore so you NEED the CD keys to even play.

Contacted Blizzard - no support on their end.

Hopefully EB won't look at me like I'm a scammer because the MOST IMPORTANT THING that should be in the box isn't there.

I'm just so angry that I'll have to go again to a considerable distance to my nearest EB store on my free weekend to rectify this issue with them.

What's the point of even buying retail to support the economy when the online stores are just better?

    • hmm i managed to install it without using the installation key?

Although it says im using the starter edition… how do I know that I have the full games on there

EDIT* i take it back.. the installation key is needed

  • Deal already noted this deal in prior thread:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/308797

  • Ordered. Pick-up tomorrow. Hello all night play fests ….

  • Order was cancelled. Out of stock.

  • I think I might have been suckered …

I got my Diablo III Battlechest yesterday, and when I took it out of the bag last night to look at the box, I immediately noticed that the box had already been opened - the seal on top of the box had been sliced open.

I then opened the box to look at the contents. Everything seems to be there ? However, there was a 2 page booklet with the Authentication Key on it that had obviously been folded and unfolded many times - there is a big crease right across the front of the booklet.

So, it looks like my game is not brand new. Has someone else purchased and returned this game ? If so, have they installed it already ? Is my Authentication Key going to work ? Or is the prior "owner" a scumbag / thief who is still using it ? If they have used the Authentication Key, can I still use it ? What if they have not uninstalled Diablo III from their machine ? What if they have ?

I really wish I had noticed that they box had been opened in the shop. I will make sure I check this from now on. If I have any difficulties with the Authentication Key, I will be returning my game and swapping it for a brand new (unopened) replacement.

EDIT: Arghhh, got to free up another 6GB on my machine before I can install and find out ….
