    Don't forget -4.8% with Cashrewards

    • How long does that take to appear in your bank account?

    • Cashrewards website says "Cashback may not be payable if you use a coupon code that is not listed on this site." Can't see any listed.

This sort of table is really useful if you need to do precision drilling.

But a warning: often people think a 2D table will let you turn a pedestal drill into a milling machine. It won't. Pedestal drills aren't designed for sideways forces on the chuck, if you do attempt milling on a pedestal drill, you'll very quickly (and dangerously) discover that the chuck and spindle fall out. I've heard speculation that it might be possible to lock the spindle in place with Loctite(tm) or similar, but nobody I know has been willing to try.

i have done the loctite method and used heat to get it stuck in. hasn't come out yet.

the table is pretty small (I have one I bought for shits and giggles). would really only work on work that is about half the size of a A4 sheet of paper. It has no real way to clamp stuff down without adding more weight to it.

      • Did you try milling with it, or was the Loctite because your spindle wouldn't stay in when drilling?

        • Yeah I did try it and it worked ok. Ported some old carbys with some Chinese "tungsten" bits to test.

The chuck stayed in for a while before it fell out. Tried loctite and heat on it and it hasn't come out since. Wish it had some sort of vice on it though.

For this size table you are better off making a VERY rigid rig with a z axis and mounting a rotary tool which can handle horizontal force
