    Oh god, they've made a smart bike…

  • -1

doesn't look terribly ergonomic. one size fits all?

    • +11

      all must fit one…

    • +2

Folding bikes are generally made in one size only

  • +5

No specs in post, no specs on website. Anyone foolish enough to hand over $850+?

    • +2

i was to late. handed over $899. :(

      • +1

Seriously you bought it? Why? A Friend has it?

        • +2

          nah. jk. im too poor

  • +1

Best price I've seen in Oz, I paid over $100 more on AliExpress. Damn.

    • +3

that's what you get for being the grinch

  • +11

    Warning

    These are not very reliable.

    with regenerative breaking

    and

sure to get a long travel distance even if you do break a lot.

Also, it appears you need to be a salesperson to use one.

You can chose to do all of the peddle work

  • +8

It may also hurt your 'ready' (whatever body part that is…)

fold it away and boom your ready

    • +2

Don't you hate it when you boom your ready? :(

      • +1

Only when I do it accidentally…

    • +1

      What colour is your reddy?

      • +1

Probably depends on if it's ready or just reddy

    • At least is comes with pedals (or is that peddles?)

  • +2

    Shipped from Oz? or Dropped?

    • +1

They will be shipped from our supplier to us and then we will organize delivery for them within Australia.

      • +1

So how long will that take overall?

        • -1

It will take up to 30 Business Days, we hope to have it delivered to those who order sooner but we have to allow for unexpected delays.

        • @RoboGuy: Do feel a bit annoyed that you gave people a total of half an hour to get it for $855 instead of $899. Still tossing up between this or the Mijia M365 scooter. Just feel a little dorky riding this bike though.

        • +2

@bchliu: Email [email protected] and we may be able to organize a good deal with you.

        • @bchliu:

Still tossing up between this or the Mijia M365 scooter.

This might help…. you can only ride the scooter on private property in NSW, the bike can be ridden as a normal bike.

        • @ash2000: Thought they're changing the rules to include e-Scooters? Or so someone was saying it in the last post.

    • If it's Dropped and doesn't work, it should be covered under their 1 Year Australian Warranty.

      • they are refusing warranty coverage on the drone they sell, so good luck with that

  • +13

isn't anyone going to ask about band 28

    • +3

Will my insurance cover it when it burns down my house as it's not Australian certified?

      • +1

Generic comment implying it meets Australian standards but simply hasn't had the checks done yet etc

  • +2

    I like robo guy!

  • As someone who's never used a power assisted bike, what benefit does this provide?
Could I just not pedal for 5 minutes?

    • With the Xiaomi QiCycle you can travel up to 45KM on pure electric range without having to pedal (obviously the range will change depending on the type of surface you are riding on, how level the ground is that you are riding on, the temperature, and so on). What electric bikes are really good at is assisting you to be able to go up hills or inclines, as they can do the extra work for you. Effectively electric bikes provide you with the ability to have a more relaxing ride as you are able to let the electric motors do some or all of the work for you.

      • How fast would it travel without me pedaling?

        • up to 20km/h

        • @RoboGuy:

I don't think this is correct.

These are a pedalec meaning that you need to pedal in order for the motor to engage.

Happy to be proven wrong as I own one of these and would love for it to run on pure electric.

  • Is this front, back, or 2 wheels drive?

    • Rear wheel drive

  • @OP, are these labelled as complying with the EN 15194 standard?
The bike is apparently certified for the standard, but at least in NSW, legally the bike needs to be labelled as such.

    • +1

It appears to be EN 15194 certified but I will confirm it with our supplier tomorrow. We understand that you may want to wait for confirmation before placing an order so if you are interested please email [email protected] so that we can provide you with the current special pricing tomorrow once it has been confirmed.

  • +3

2999 RMB in China = less than 600AUD

watch youtube review before you buy

  • +2

Might be better off shelling out $1,100 for a aus company's foldable electric bike: Leitner. look em up. generally seems good comments all around…

  • -1

    it's cheaper here now.

    US $892.00

    https://goo.gl/i1qNtE

    • +2

That's USD. This deal I assume is AUD?

      • sorry, did not notice taht.

  • Note:
The battery capacity is 208 watt-hours, this is quite low - my folding ebike has a 600 watt-hour battery and has a range (on the flat) of just over 50 km without pedalling, going about ~23KpH.

A range of "45KM" means you're doing much of the work.

    YMMV

    • +7

That's the first literal use of YMMV I've seen!

    • Sounds like you have a bike with a throttle. The Xiaomi is a pedalec, so you have to pedal for it to "assist" you.

  • how about the scooter

  • Xiao Mi is selling this bike in China for $600 ish…

  • +3

does this have parking sensors, reverse parking assist and lane departure warning? I really need these features from a smart bike…

    • -2

You must be a s##t rider, I hope you don't operate a motor vehicle

      • +1

on most occasions i am a backseat driver, sometimes I like to take charge…. but whenever I do there seems to be a lot of accidents … i was told its not about the destination, its the journey that counts …

    • +2

no but it does come with

      panoramic sunroof
      key less entry
      automatic A/C during winter
      automatic heater during summer

and I can almost guarantee it will turn heads! :P

      • does it have dualzone climate control?? (sometimes, I like to ride with shorts and find my upper body heats faster then my legs)

        • +2

You can unlock that feature when you wear a top with a zipper or buttons down the front.

  • TRS available?

  • +2

vacuums are delayed until near end of July - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/306334?page=6#comment-4812…

    what about these?

    • +2

Also would like an update on the bikes

      • +1

someone mentioned in the other post that the bikes are on the same container .. delayed

  • +1

Hmmm now past Roboguys promised 30 days (at worst he was indicating) and nothing!
