My evidence is that I requested a refund immediately after the deal closed and they quickly processed it. I got the paypal refund notification in a day and however long it takes for it to hit my cc. If they were planning on doing a runner they wouldn't have refunded me. Also, the fact that they accept Paypal (which comes with 100% protection) implies that they aren't set out to scam people.
As I said earlier, from day one this smelled like an amateur job (which is why I cancelled) and I'm sure they have been screwed around by their supplier. At this point though, asking for a refund and going with say Aliexpress (2 week turnaround) may not be worth the hassle and it's quite likely everyone will get their little slaves within 2-3 weeks. Just a guess though as Roboguy has been quite cagey with the details.
Either way Paypal offers 180 day 'guarantee' so worse case scenario is delayed gratification (I know that's a big ask for many :))
In my case though they hadn't yet ordered from the supplier so no harm. In your case they may be short on cashflow especially if others have requested a refund so it may take a little longer.
thanks gimme. I got an email from them saying 14 days. Just waiting for the paypal side for clarification.
@gimme: I call that perception management ;)
But I hope everything goes smoothly for all parties involved!
Just for people looking to go through the cancellation process…. Still waiting
My timeline -
Day 0- Raised cancellation
+1 day - email back - they will look into cancellation
+3 days - I follow up
±4 days - they send me email it's cancelled in their system (up to 14 days wtf?)Currently +6 days - Waiting for PayPal refund
If anyone curious how long it will take to cancel
how long did it take to go back into paypal?
They sent me an email saying - Refund in process - takes up to 14 days….
Yeah I had that - first had an email saying will look to refund, then another giving information about shipping update. Finally the following day I had an email saying they had issued a refund and within that day it can gone back to paypal.
I'm definately not as lucky as u with the speed of processing…
Maybe people who paid extra for priority shipping should get a refund if Roboguy is going to default on the promised delivery date.
I pretty much went "**** this guy" the moment I saw it. He's like if you can find a better price, let him know, making us believe he's genuine and flexible with the pricing then boom, he wants an extra $5 instead.
Interesting also that he was answering questions multiple times a day and now he doesn't even bother apart from posting so-called updates that doesn't really provide any more information than what we already know.
If it wasn't for the time i wasted in waiting so far, i would have already pulled the pin on this. Besides, based on what others are saying, getting money back will take a couple of weeks anyway. Everything takes weeks!Well I can imagine nothing much has changed, hence no reason to update - they're on their way.
OP has communicated poorly, IMO avoiding the fact he's got no idea what's going on.
'our hands are now tied and we also have to wait as patiently as we can for the shipment process to be completed.'
This feels a bit like Skippa (PVR) from ICE TV that never came and they were telling everyone the shipment was inbound but never gave any detail on the shipment until the company went into administration. If I'm running a business I'm seeing my name here being sullied, and I don't think anyone's ever been accused of over communicating.
People want to know where their product is and what and what are they waiting for. I'd be saying the supplier is waiting for stock, the shipment is awaiting clearance from overseas customs or whatever. OP has instilled no confidence in customers and if it wasn't for the 180 Paypal protection I bet the majority would have pulled their money by now.
Here's my understanding based on OPs messages:
The 30 days started when the group buy finished. (don't remember when that was)
22 May- The shipping process started.
31 May- There was a slight delay in the shipping from China. Supplier assured customers will receive good within 30 business days as stated.
11 June- The shipping process for your order has commenced and we are currently awaiting further information from our supplier as to its progress. No ETA, be patient. So you're right, nothing has changed. A shipping process exists and we have no idea what it is or where it is in the process.
@f4te:
I'm not just referring to shipping status. There was someone asking about what happened with the local repairer arrangement that the OP claimed to be working on. No response at all to those questions either@djc926: We are still in contact with the local Australian Extended Warranty Company and are trying to arrange a partnership with them to be able to offer our customers the ability to purchase extended warranties for their products.
@RoboGuy: Extended warranty on top of the already 1 year privided Australian warranty?
can't be too long to go now fellas. Another 2 weeks tops.
Assuming everything goes as planned. Given the OPs lack of information, I wouldn't be surprised if there are hold ups that push that date back.
This is so frustrating this was meant to be a Mother's Day present!! Everyone should dispute there order and get a full refund
Just out of curiosity what would be the basis for your paypal dispute? considering it's still within the promised timeframe.
No it's not. It's been almost 2 months
"delivery to our customers should be completed within 30 business days from when we place the order with our supplier"
Assuming they placed the order immediately after the deal finished that would make it 30 business days from 14May which would be 26/27 June.
@gimme:
Within 30 business days would be by 23 June, next Fridayyou missed the public holiday + he said 30 days after they placed the order so as I said it's 26/27
How's public holiday on 12 june supposed to impact the delivery when that's NSW only holiday plus the goods are apparently on its way from China?
Maybe you should read check because Roboguy said up to 30 business days allowing for potential delays in his first update. In his second update, he said "by 30 business days"
In his email to me he then says their target is to deliver by end of June.
since you're getting all specific, I am pointing out that my business day calculation is accurate. It's not NSW only btw (also VIC) but since they are based in NSW it counts. up to 30 days or by 30 days is still a max of 30 days. Anyway I'm even not sure what's your point.
Wrong. The goods aren't even in the country probably let alone in victoria or nsw so what you are saying is completely pointless and it shouldn't have any impact on the delivery time.
Lol how old are you? Who said anything about impact? I'm just calculating business days as per their promise. Im not even sure what you want to do? Paypal dispute at 11:35am on your chosen last day? Good luck waiting another 2 weeks for your refund then 2weeks for a new one.
@gimme:
I don't give a crap about how old you are so why do you care? Are you going to ask me out? Lol
You don't need to know what i will do and i don't have to tell you. I just have to tell you your post doesn't make any sense.
Thanks genius.i've got a suspicion gimme is involved with this deal he seems very interested in proving delivery times etc
Who knows really. Does seem weird for someone not even waiting on his order to keep wasting time looking at this thread but he may get a weird kick out of it.
Or it's just someone who has a lot of spare time
Do i find him helpful, no. Lol@nnolan: We would like to assure you 100% that gimme is not associated with RoboGuy in any way. However, we do appreciate the positive and encouraging comments.
Thanks you just answered my question. Happy vacuuming.
Woo 2 months later
Anyone got off aliexpress? Cheapest I could find was $460 shipped with DHL express
Even if this vacuum comes, I'm steering clear from this seller in the future. Communications are non-existent so doesn't leave me with much confidence of after sales support.
Funny how gimme is replying to everyone while roboguy hasn't said a thing.
meh most of the china sellers either don't response or give you some scripted response that rarely makes sense or answers your question. I'm not sure exactly what comms people are expecting anyway. It's not that hard to figure out what's going on based on the last update. Best case you'll get it within 2weeks, worst case you'll get a paypal refund it it doesn't meet the deadline and order from China and wait 2-3 weeks for delivery. If you go down the refund route it may take an additional 2 weeks+ for the paypal process. Pretty simple really.
See what I mean, this guys on top of things. If this was roboguy replying then I'd have no issue.
lol I really just summed up roboguy's response and removed the fluff :)
Full disclosure: I went down the Aliexpress path long time ago and enjoying watching my slave zoom around the house every other day. I'm sure you're all be doing the same thing 'soon'.
@gimme: How is it? I'll enjoy the vacuum through your experience since mine is somewhere between my house and china.
Deal closed 11:59pm on the 14th of May.
30 'business days' is on the 23rd of June.
Does the definition of business day finish at 4:51pm or do we give him till 5pm?At last someone who can count… there is still hope in humanity.
lets be reasonable here…. 5 pm, then i'll sharpen my pitchfork
So 35 days later still no update on shipping not even a tracking number. I've lost hope, was really hoping to surprise mum with this as a gift
Roboguy hasn't even received the shipment from his supplier yet. I think we will be lucky to see this thing at our doorstep before end of June. My money is on it arriving after 30 June.
I find his update completely contradictory as well. He says he's doing everything he can to get the order delivered on time and the very next sentence he says it's out of his control. Sounds extremely confidence inspiring.
I'd have more patience if he was more open and confirm exactly when his supplier dispatched the goods and how long it's expected to take from that date rather than these non sense updatesFrom what I can gather from the vague answers is the shipping process hasn't even commenced yet and there all still in China. I ordered on the 14/5 so well over a month ago.. it was suppose to be a birthday present for my mum on the 25th coming up. I can't see any of us getting these before early June or if not at all to be completely honest. How can you not know what's going on or even have a tracking number with s shipment worth well over $60,000!?
I was going to cancel but couldn't find it any cheaper on aliexpress was around $470 shipped with dhl I would have got it soon at least
Not only will your mum be surprised if she gets it, so will just about everyone else in here that has ordered one!
What about the accessories?
Do you have them in stock or have to wait 1-2 months to ship?
get the accessories from aliexpress… it's cheaper and arrives in approx 2 weeks. No need to worry about local warranty for consumables anyway.
If you have already ordered at the time of purchase, one would assume that they'll arrive at the same time.
If the supplier delayed it that much. Should have forced the seller to ship it from them to us direct all updated and with tracking. It's only good PR. Even if not - make good on delivery timeframe.
Lost confidence if any warranty issue comes up.
Assuming they had dramas with the supplier, do you think it would have been logistically easier to organise 100's of individual shipments vs one shipment to them?
Well, still yes. He still had to repost. It's either in aust or HK. It's the cost that is willing to wear it or not.
From this tread it feels as if Roboguy is about to be hit with Paypal disputes left right and centre if he doesn't get the deliveries out by the end of the week. Most people would be a lot more forgiving if he had been open with what was happening rather than taking the money and disappearing.
Day +8 (6 days business) after my direct cancellation request to Roboguy.
Still waiting for the Paypal refund side of it.
Will give him till the end of the week for the refund before I lodge my paypal dispute… but common… 2 weeks to process?
Does he get charged for disputes?
Got my refund ~ moving on ~
How long did it take you to get your refund?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4790724/redir
i think about 8-9 days from emailing them
Update (or not) as of yesterday:
The 30 Business Day period started on the 15th of May when the group deal ended and thus will be completed at the end of June.
We are doing our absoulte best to have your order delivered to you as soon as possible.Kindest Regards,
RoboGuyHe seriously needs help with counting. 30 business days from 15th is 23rd of June. Even if you include public holiday it's 26 June. Where does bloody end of June come from?
This is by far the worst online purchase experience in my entire life and I have bought a lot of stuff online over the years. To me the 26th is considered the end of June, is not the middle and it definitely isn't the start.
If this is the worst experience you have had buying online then you haven't bought enough.
Then you read wrong because he means end of June as in by 30 June.
No, that just means you have bought from too many dodgy sellers.
Nope. I read it right - he just says end of June. This could mean the 26th. I'm not saying he will make that date but you are the one reading more than what is written.
Just like the fact that you have said this is the worst experience ever before the delivery date has even passed.
To quote someone on this thread:
"Thanks for the great insight mr patient."
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4741917/redir@leyton01:
What proof do you have he means 26th? Are you roboguy or a mind reader? End of june means 30 june literally. Go back to school if you dont know that. I think you're the one reading more than what's written. The writing is on the wall now. Experience isn't all about delivery date. OP's poor communication is the bigger issue here. You didn't "read" that from reading the thread?
I'm thinking of going on holidays at the end of the year. I guess I'll have to leave on the 31st Dec otherwise I may be literally incorrect.
Lol worst online experience ever for something that could be delayed by a week or so. You're either 12 or never shop online.
At least i can read better than you. I'll reiterate for you since you are challenged. Experience is not all about delivery date.
Did you accidentally log in with your other account? Lol
Makes sense doesnt it? When everyone is hounding him for delivery date, he just roughly says by end of june when he's been trying to be very specific with when 30 business days start from. I guess this concept is too much for you to comprehend. That's ok. Not everyone is born with intelligence
Clearly…. since you keep shifting your argument everytime it's exposed as nonsensical.
@gimme:
Yawn.. you're one boring individual
Should i reply to Leyton01 instead? LolYup yawning is the new way to win an argument.
I wonder if djc926 goes into the stores currently having End of Financial Year Sales and yells "Why is your sale on?? Don't you know EOFY is ONLY June 30?? Go back to school!!"
@djc926:
I don't have proof he means 26th (that date did come from you after all). My comment was (and I will paste it here because you seem unable to read it above):
"To me the 26th is considered the end of June, is not the middle and it definitely isn't the start."
Note no reference to roboguy or his meaning or whether he will meet the date or his communication - you just took that and ran with it.Your multitude of comments reminds me of something I read in another Xiaomi thread (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/4742518/redir):
"i haven't received mine either. I didn't whinge like a serial whinger like you haha"I'm not whingeing. I'm just pointing out how ridiculous your comments are
Did you spend hours thinking of that ridiculous analogy that doesn't even make sense?
Maybe you don't even know what EOFY sale means lolYep, he was being hounded to deliver as soon as possible. Rather than say 26th, which is earlier than 30 June and he cleverly decides to write "end of June" to mean 26th which will land him in more scrutiny and criticism if people misinterpret it as 30 June.
You really are clever, aren't you? lol
Although I don't even have to reply as the above rambling speaks for itself I do have a sudden compulsion to add "lol" to the end of my sentence to make it seem more plausible. lol
Just say it… you got nothin
Because you ran out of non sense to write. He would not make any updates that may lead people to think delivery will be later than 30 business days. Still can't get that through your head? You're a lost cause
djc926/leyton01 - that's enough please.
Lol my response was directed at dj… i must replied to you accidentally. Anyway Im out.
Pretty poor form by Roboguy not addressing concerns within OzB given the deal was posted here before it even went live.
By the end of the week if I don't receive anything of real substance (product or excuses) I will be pursuing a refund / paypal dispute and I urge everyone here to do the same.
I think everyone here is able to order the same model from Shopping Square for $383 with 20% off Ebay (cheaper) and should arrive circa 2 weeks or so based on comments.
Based on how this is being handled i don't think australian warranty is worth even taking into account. If purchase experience is this bad, i can't imagine how bad after sales support will be.
Not necessarily - They may have had issues with their supplier, hence the initial delay but once (presumably) they get over that hurdle, warranty service could be fine. Also keep in mind I very doubt that they will be sending units back and forth to China for repairs as it'll cost a bundle and will have to organise some sort of local process.
Make up your bloody mind. Speaking so much non sense as if you know this seller but you forget what garbage you were drivelling before.
Your exact words before
Even if we get it I'm not even sure they'll be around in a few months for any warranty matters. Only recourse is paypal and cc chargeback.
Wrong again…. i made that statement before their update which made the situation clear to me. No secret that i got out. Read my posts, I'm not defending them, just pointing out your overdramatic and inane arguments.
Another bunch of drivels and excuses…
Link?
I'm just keen to know whether he will meet the 30 business day period.
Probably not (just a guess). I'd add another week. It just comes down to whether people would be bothered asking for a refund for a week's delay and jumping through the hoops to ultimately have to wait longer for a vacuum from another seller. Some may do it on principle but most pragmatic people won't. Also I suspect paypal wouldn't issue an immediate refund anyway and they would most likely be able to provide a tracking number (locally shipped) by the paypal response deadline so again it may prove to be a pointless exercise.
Let's face it, the wesbite was a dead giveaway that these guys didn't have all proper business structure, yet people got swept up in the hype and ordered anyway. I could see it a mile away that this wasn't going to be a quick turnaround which is why I cancelled back then.By the same token I'm sure that everyone will get their robots in the next 2-3weeks. I'm sure some people are upset about it but judging from the 250+ votes and the handful that are complaining now, I have a feeling many people probably don't care that much about the delays.
yeah, i'm happy to support the little guy so happy to wait an extra week or two given the already long wait.
Just would be nice as by now he would know whether he would meet the 30 day mark.
I'm happy to support him too, especially since he probably has school & homework to do as well. Considering what I was like as a kid, I wasn't expecting much (and as it turns out haven't got much!).
@f4te:
Exactly.. I'm not sure how anyone was taken by surprise by any of this given the look of the website and the information that was available about the business from the very beginning. As soon as I realised this was run by a kid who hasn't dealt with Chinese suppliers I knew I wasn't going to receive the vacuum before at least the end of June.
I just want a clean floor.
A week and a half ago:
"We will update you as soon as we have more information and an ETA for delivery."
This is getting a bit silly. Especially given that I ordered a Mi Robot repair kit from Aliexpress at the same time and it arrived about 5 weeks ago.and,
"We are still in contact with the local Australian Extended Warranty Company and are trying to arrange a partnership with them"
How long does it take to get more information or arrange a warranty?I want to support the 'little guy', ordering from Aliexpress was cheaper at the time, but come on Roboguy where are the updates? As your delivery time gets longer and longer YOU need to be more and more communicative because your customer's PATIENCE is wearing thinner and thinner.
$400 is not spare change. And if the vote counter is anything to go by you have 264+ people waiting. Pull your socks up, make your phone calls and then tell us what is going on- not rubbish like "our supplier is working overtime" (which was back in June).
but are delivery times really getting longer and longer? It hasn't been 30 business days yet.
3 days to go to 30 business days. If there's no update now, it is pretty much guaranteed we won't receive it in the next few days. Pretty safe to say the delivery time has gotten longer.
longer and longer implies that it has been pushed out several times whereas in fact it hasn't YET hit the 1st promised date.
are you sure? do you want to be specific?
Customers were initially led to believe that 30 business days was to allow for potential delays.
Then their target suddenly changed to end of June.
Still no update so I highly doubt it will even get here by end of June.Sounds like longer and longer to me.
First update:
As noted on the shipping page in the checkout please allow up to 30 Business Days for arrival, although we hope you will receive your order sooner we have to allow for any potential delays.Second update:
We have had a slight delay with shipping from China, but our supplier has been working overtime and has assured us that we will receive the goods in time to have them delivered to you by the 30 Business Days (as stated on the shipping page in the checkout). Our target is to have the order delivered to you by the end of June.
We are very sorry to announce the delay in shipping, but we want to be transparent and upfront with you, so we hope that you will respect that.yes I'm sure…. It hasn't been 'longer and longer' as the delay is still within the originally promised 30 day estimate.
yep, if it gets delivered in the next 3 days. Otherwise, no. I know which one I would put my money on
That's what I said. You can only claim 'longer' after next week and 'longer and longer' after that etc. I'm just pointing out the over-dramatization before the actual event has occurred.
evidence for them being legit?
