Grand Theft Auto IV (Platinum Edition) for $17.50 - AxelMusic.com

90

Good deal and an awesome game. Platinum Edition, so it's the UK release, but it's region free anyway, so works anywhere. Shipping to Australia is AUD 2.78.

    Should state it's for PS3.

    • Yeah, sorry.

  • Wait so this is just like because it sold so many titles it's 'Platinum', not because there's anything extra/special, right?

    • Yeah. Some games become "Platinum" (Europe) or "Greatest Hits" (USA/Canada) when they've sold x amount of copies. Usually when this happens the price drops considerably from the normal MSRP.

Hate to bring it up, but Aus does not have an 18+ rating for games. This game was banned in Australia and "toned down" to give it 15+ rating.

Buying this from overseas, you run the risk of it getting seized by customs.

      Dude, you need to chillax!

Dude, you need to speak to people who get their games seized by customs and get a nice little fine along with it!

        • Curious how customs actually spot 18+ games? I've bought HEAPS of games from the UK before (no 18+ ones though) and none of them have ever been inspected by customs.

It's also funny that if you look on ebay there are Aus sellers selling imported versions..

I think the risk of getting caught is higher during the time when a censored game comes out. That guy bought L4D2 right at the time of release so customs were probably more on the look out for imported copies.

        • Your probably doing something dodgy and getting caught because of this. Can't say I'm sorry to hear that though :)

you run the risk of it getting seized by customs.

It's fine to import for personal use. You only get into trouble if you're importing for commercial sale.

So it depends on if the merchant is based outside Aus selling to Aus - legal.
If the merchant is based in Aus and importing the games directly for sale in Aus - illegal.

So by the looks of it, everything is fine as they don't have an Australian presence.

      • Nope. Illegal items are not allowed to be imported for ANY reason.

It is up to the individual whether they risk it or not. Personally, I wouldn't.

Now listed for $21.88 AUD not $17.50 so assume the price has gone back up?

    • Yeah just bought a copy…still cheap and I hope it gets through customs

Your payment for $22.94 USD has been completed. (Works out to be about $26Aus)

      • I just picked one up too, paid in Canadian Dollars (CAD 23.49) so it might be slightly cheaper (only a dollar maybe) than paying in USD with the conversion? Not 100% sure though. Cheap either way!

  • Did you guys use Paypal or credit card?

    • Credit card

  • How long did it take for you guys to receive your game in the mail? Are there shipping times sometimes really slow?
