Hello Dear customers,

We have one Ultrafire 8 Modes XM-L2 U2 on promotion now, real lumen with portable design (use one 18650 battery). Thanks for giorgoskok's review. This one is good for EDC gear or as daily use.

Our site has own brand 18650 batteries Tlife on sale, batteries can be shipped to AU now and hope you can like them too.

As some people have doubts with Chinese flashlight lumen or quality, I hope some professional guys in Australia can make reviews for our own brand flashlight/headlight Teekland. Please let me know if you have interests.

Thank you and have a nice day!

Sincerely
Tmart

  • Hi Rep, do you also have any other flashlight that's powered by AA battery ins of 18650?

    Thanks.

  • I want to keep a flashlight in the car. But what sort of FL should I go for as it wont be used frequently ?

anything with normal batteries, lithium ions while better in terms of power output suffer from pretty bad self discharge rates at elevated temperatures.
More than likely they'll be permanently damaged from the heat of a car parked during the day fairly early on.
Alkaline batteries in this respect perform better and since you won't be using it frequently it won't matter.
Depending on how bright you need I'd get a torch with this type of emitter (XM-L) which are more or less the brightest available in typical chinese torches.
However if you don't need that much light / wanna save a few bucks get one with the XP/XR emitters which tend to be a fair bit cheaper and still put out a reasonable amount of lumens.

Hello 51ngh, it depends on what do you use the flashlight for and how long the frequency you use it. Normally there is no need to carry a high lumen torch, I use a normal one like 500LM for reserve to find some gadgets in my car or make some little car repair. If you need to go fishing at night or camping, there would be much more brands choices and expensive. I just say my own ideas in China, maybe some OZ users can give more useful advices as they live in Australia. Hope you can understand my chatter.

    • Depends on how much you want to spend, but something that takes lithium primary (non rechargeable) or CR123 batteries is a good idea. They can be stored for years with no real drop in capacity. Steer clear of alkaline batteries as they can leak and ruin your lights

This would be good, T5-5B emitter will give a nice neutral white, and you can get an extension tube if you want to run 18650 cells instead.

  • Is the torch waterproof or just water resistant? (The link says both.)

Edit: Oh, thanks OP for listing actual (measured) lumens!

Hi Dust, it is IPX-7 waterproof as on manual.
