  • Nonstick surfaces are a health hazard.
    Cast iron for the win.

    If you must fry.

      Regulatory agencies worldwide have concluded that PTFE non-stick manufactured without the use of the component called PFOA is not a risk to consumers. All Essteele non-stick is completely PFOA free.

      • Regulatory agencies are in the pocket of the corporations, who pay them. Thanks, but I don't look to them for 'approvals' while I use myself and those I associate with as a living biological experiment for the latest round of toxins approved by the filthy State.

        Besides, cast iron is 'non-stick' anyway, and doesn't change the taste of food like these chemical concoctions do. And they will last a lifetime with proper care. Even after over-heating and lots of abuse.

        And they cost less.
        And they are time-proven.

        • +1

          Cast iron does help to reduce anemia. But it is not all good. Too much iron is also linked to numerous diseases. Mostly only a concern if eating a lot of red meat as well as fortified foods and also using cast iron pans. https://examine.com/nutrition/are-cast-iron-pans-unsafe/

        • +1

          @twocsies:
          Too much of anything is a problem. Cast iron is amongst the safest option for cooking, and has been proven for thousands of years. I'll take that over any State-approved no-long-term-study flavour-of-the-month chemical concoction.

          Just now people are starting to realise what packaged plastics are seeping into their food and drink (among other materials). Cast iron sounds great to me in comparison. Happy to have taken my family off the junk stuff.

          And it doesn't 'flavour' the food like that junk stuff does.
          And it works, and works well.
          And is cheaper.

          And doesn't support DuPont (among others) …the enviro-vandals and war profiteers. Lots of environmental damage in the manufacture of these products.

          PS. to whom it may conceern: don't your negatives on me in one go.
          I'll be here long after you stop selling this sludge.

        • +1

          @cheepwun: Iron is State approved, i have no idea why you're risking everything by using it. Your just on of the sheeple!

        • @Diji1:
          I know, right. Baaaaaah.

          The difference being a large corporation hasn't approached the State Mafia for approval. It has been here for thousands of years and will be here for thousands more. Long after the latest fad has had their bribes paid and approvals granted.

          GMO food has had 'approvals' too. I'd like to state what I think of them here, but can't using polite language. Nor get into the fact that it doesn't need to be labelled as genetically modified, so the tax-paying Slaves cannot make an informed decision.

          All those plastics we use have been approved too, despite leeching their crap in our food and drink. Pesticides, etc. The sheep are going north-west. I may not know where I am going, but it sure as hell isn't where that flock is going.

          Bread-makers. Sandwich-makers. Rice-cookers. Non-stick garbage, most of them (you can still get cast iron or stainless steel if you look). Otherwise, no thank you.

          Appeals to emotion everywhere :/
          Chemicals are so scary!
          Who knows what those crazy scientists are doing modifying those genetics!

          Who knows what those crazy scientists are doing modifying those genetics!

          You can find out here: www.gmoevidence.com among many, many places online.
          If you actually cared enough to see what the research has shown up to this date.

          As for non-stick crapware, plastics and the rest…well there is a wealth of evidence….now.
          In the meantime, people have been using them for decades. Good stuff, being a human experiment and all.

          @Diji1:

          And you are not? Then tell me, how is it that government departments decide to change departments' names from one to another, spend millions of dollars (check for yourself if you don't believe, freedom of information), don't get better quality of service or anything for that matter, the department is exactly the same as it was, yet… 20 something million Australians are paying for that just like sheep? If I came to you and took money of you, you'd cry robbery. If you paid for something and got lesser product, you'd go and tell them where to stick it.

          Yet, the government takes your money, throws it away and you just sit there minding your own business. That money could be used for many other necessary things.

          So, who's the sheeple?

          @cheepwun:
          Upon landing on the website I'm confronted with an image of a gloved hand holding a syringe to a sweet corn. Like that's how it works.
          Scare tactics, appeals to emotion and misinformation.
          Hardly reputable.

        • @BTRaynes: Watch out for that dihydrogen monoxide! It's government and Big $PHARMA$ approved, but can be fatal when inhaled even in small dosages and is the main component of acid rain. It's used by big polluting corporation$ as a fire retardant, a cooling agent in dirty nuclear power plants and is key to several processes used to genetically modify crops. Yet dihydrogen monoxide is a common ingredient in most processed foods and is even turning up in organic produce! Write to your local PM to have dihydrogen monoxide BANNED!

        • @BTRaynes:
          If that's all you have to say about the website, then that's convenient.
          For you.

    All non stick pans are toxic like Teflon.

    • -1

      Sauce?

      Even some whacked out hippie site thinks ceramic pans are safe (and that's saying something =P)

      https://wellnessmama.com/13203/glazed-ceramic-pans-safe/

      Granted Teflon pans are not worth the risk.

      Edit: That site came from 30s of searching. Take it (and food) with a pinch of salt.

          So your reasoning is that every product that uses a descriptive French, as in French fry, french kiss, French bulldog, French doors, French horn, must be manufactured in France?

          JV, classic overhead dumbbell French press. What a crock. Ring up Hungry Jacques for me, be a sport.
