Ergoflex Queen Size Mattress $799

Hi all,

After hearing how firm Lazybeds are I was interested in Ergoflex's mattress. I managed to convince the CSR to reactivate an old code I saw a few weeks back. The code takes $150 off the price and better than the current code they're offering on their website.

The downside is the code is only active till midnight tonight I according to the CSR.

Here are the details from the website.

  • I have both Tempur and Ergoflex. Ergoflex is good. They are open and transparent about what their mattresses are made of, compared to other brands.

    • how do you compare the two?
If Ergoflex had the 30 Night Risk-Free Home Trial we would try it, in the end bought Tempur for peace in mind for 6 times more.

I have both. My Tempur is ~10 years old. My Ergo is 2.5. the Tempur was the main mattress for 7.5 years. I went to the Ergo when we got a bigger king bed. There's no comparison IMO; the Tempur is superior. Like, a lot better. My thoughts:

        • initially, they seemed pretty much the same. I was super happy as I thought saved ~75% and got something just as good.
        • However, the ergo doesn't hold up. The Ergo has a noticeable dent in it where I sleep (I sadly float between 85-95kg). My wife's side has a bit of a divot as well, but she's little.
        • The Tempur, even after 7.5 years of daily sleeping and now guest usage, looks brand new when you take off the covers and look at the surface - no sag.
        • The tempur was always more firm. The ergo was always more "squishy". The difference was not as big for the first 6 months, but now it's night and day.
        • Motion transfer was always less on the tempur. The ergo is certainly better than a spring mattress, but on the Tempur, we've both noticed that there's a difference.

If you've never had a memory foam mattress, the Ergo might seem great, but if you've slept on either for an extended period, even my entry level Tempur kicks the Ergo up and down the street. Sure, it's 3x more, but after 2.5 years, my wife is strongly pushing me to admit that my Ozbargain sensibilities were wrong and that I should have just paid full fare for the better mattress.

God, I hate to admit she's right. I'm just trying to figure out how to "accidentally" damage the Ergo so I can avoid admitting that she's right and justify a new mattress purchase. ;)

          Thanks for the thorough comparison!
Glad I didn't cheap out and now I'm looking good on the side of my missus :-) we went for the higher end of Tempur King size, was on 40% off with AMEX deal etc - Ozbargain sensibilities.
Now 2.5 years on, like you said, still firm and as new, I can't feel the movement when she sits or turns, magic! more for her though…

I've had an Ergo for a few years and love it, but you cant beat a comparison from someone that has both brands.

I haven't used the Ergo much, so you may be right - my daughter uses the Ergo, and she weighs less than a feather. But the price difference is quite substantial, and the Ergo is the only one that uses the same memory foam density as Tempur.
I still think the Ergo is good value for money, though. Especially compared to other boxed mattresses. Also keep in mind that the newer Ergoflex uses a newer material than the previous ones (Gen 5, whatever that means).

Are they claiming that their mattress is HD? As in high definition?

    • +1

      High Density foam.

ahh it reads better on my laptop not through the app on my phone… I thought it might be like everything in the 80s was "turbo" powered.

      4K but no band 28.

I've been sleeping on one for the last ~5 years.. comfortable and pretty good for isolating sleep movement, however doesn't breathe well in summer.

The memory foam is probably updated by now.

  • I have one in queen size bought about a year ago, be aware that even if advertised as medium/firm it tends to lean more toward the firm … Quite hard during winter.

Is it full HD or only 720 pee?

  • have had these for over 5 years, very happy with them.

How are these compared to lets say ecosa or sleeping duck?

    • I am curious too. Sleeping duck is more expensive about $1300.

    • Sleeping Duck has a multi-layer foam top with a pocket spring mattress - so a hybrid. The Ergoflex is foam only I believe. 100 day trial on SD.

    • You should read this wiki page
      It's very helpful to compare.

  • I've had mine for about 5 years. Absolutely love it in winter, hate it in summer. It gets really (profanity) hot.

  • Not sure I want a "mouldy" mattress.

  • Looking for a good queen mattress in a few weeks or so. What are some of the popular ones now? Prefer firmer ones. Are Sealy and Sleepmaker actually good? Budget around 900-1000.

$200 off a King size today with code KING (normally $1299!)

  • Code is still active if anyone is interested in purchasing.
