Hi guys, I've been following Em-5 mk ii deals for a while and these are the cheapest I've seen them with proper AUS warranty. They are great cameras for travel and street shooting, have excellent in body image stabilisation and are completely weather sealed. This is my first post, hope someone finds this useful 🙂

  • Great camera and lenses. I have the ẹm mkII and the 12-40mm 2.8 pro and it was worth every dollar.

If only it had 4K recording….

    • Picked up a GX85 triple lens kit (12-32mm + 45-150mm + 25mm f/1.7) from Digital Camera Warehouse the other day for $1128. If video is important then there's literally nothing out there that comes close just now.

      • Oh cool, thanks!!! Can you tell if this camera also has live long exposure mode?

      • Looks like Panasonic have the edge over Olympus now. Even though I like Olympus, the video department is lacking - stabilisation is great, but it lacks the sharpness of Panasonic's line (even against the LX100.) Now that Panasonic is offering mirrorless' options with 5 axis IBIS like the GX85, I'm seriously considering a Panasonic offering - maybe the G85 as it's a bit beefier and looks nicer to hold. For 4k video, it's either 2500 for the EM1 mark 2, while only about 1000 for a Panasonic option (G85).

Yep I agree, Olympus really needs to announce their Em-5 mk III soon.

However personally testing the Em-5 and the G85 at the camera shop, I found the G85s noise to be terrible. At ISO 1600 - 3200 there was a lot of banding (lines across the pictures) and I found that the EM-5 held up just that much better in low light.

But if you are video shooter and stay within the 100-800 iso range Panasonic definitely has the lead in features over Olympus

      • That's a pretty sweet deal. Definitely worth the money. As you said, if you are a video shooter Panasonic cameras are a much better buy. The only comprises with the Gx85 is that there is no headphone or microphone jack and that it's not weatherproof. And if you do colour grading there's also no cinelike profiles. But other than that, quite the excellent camera. For a still shooter like me I'd be fine with Olympus 1080p, I'd just upscale the video to 4k to look nice on the tv.

Expensive! Got this for $999 from Gerry Gibbs 2 years ago!

That's a great price! What kit did you get?

        Black with 12-40mm 2.8 pro

        • That's insane, the lens it self costs $900 RTP. Must have been a closing down clearance or something. Man I would jump on that kind of deal

@JCHL: Pretty sure it was an Oly xmas promo, and the price I'm quoting was after cash back… But yes, GGCW was legendary for their sales. They closed down about 6-8 months ago if i recall.

Oly normally have some awesome Xmas promos where they give an additional lens via redemption or prepaid card as cash back. I remember getting the xmas deal two years running, and each time just selling my old body+kit lens… I think after all that, I ended up with the 12-400mm 2.8 pro for about $300, and a 45mm 1.8 for about $100.
