Past Bethesda games have indeed dropped in price quite rapidly. I'd expect it to be sub $50 before Christmas.

I wonder why most stores have taken around $40 off the rrp? No faith in the game? It's usually only the big games like COD that get a massive day one discount.
Previews aren't particularly good. As aforementioned, there's a demo available (except on PC) where you can gauge for yourself. I'm personally interested just for the synth-wave OST by Mick Gorgon haha.

The last game that got a pre-release discount like this from JB was Mass Effect Andromeda, and that was well below people's expectations.
Bethesda give retailers a lot of movement in terms of the RRP. Doom, Dishonored 2, Fallout 4, etc all were quite low priced at launch and within 3 months had dropped even more. Within 12 months they are under $30 at most.
OP here. I played the demo last night and wasn't that impressed either. Felt a bit like a re-skinned Dishonored in space. Demos cut both ways. Still if you want the game this is the best price.
Oh, and apparently there aren't any advanced copies going out to reviewers, so no reviews before or on launch day.

Great price, but I'll be giving the game a miss. Just played the demo, found the graphics rather uninspiring and the gameplay is a complete borefest.
I played the demo last night and it's a pass for me. Game feels very dated and boring. The price will drop very quickly on this one like it did with Dishonored 2.
