$10 off eBay with No Minimum Spend (New or Inactive Accounts (12 Months) Only)

2500

Hi XXXXX,

I hope you're well.

Get $10 off, with no minimum spend. Offer available only to inactive (not shopped in 12 months) or new to eBay Australia.

The unique code will be emailed to shoppers once their account has been validated.

Screenshot of T&Cs…

Note that 'SUCCESS' upon submission of email does not mean you've qualified for the $10 off. This merely confirms your entry was received. You'll need to wait until April 24th to see if you've successfully met the guidelines for the offer.

Lotsa of people gonna be disappoint.

      • No harm in trying…

    • I got the same result on an account I used on eBay last week… I don't think there are any checks?

  • +42

You will only receive a voucher if you haven't shopped on eBay in the past 12 months.

In other words: Not eligible for OzBargainers

    • +8

depends on how many ebay accounts you have.

      • +8

I need to start setting up more accounts. One for each goldfish.

        • +6

          Me too.

Can I use the same paypal account?

        • @superforever:

          yes

Edit: looking at Miss B's comment below, maybe not. Still worthwhile to have additional accounts to get all the codes

        • @superforever:
Best to have separate paypal accounts for each Ebay ID or else they'll know and you may not be able to double dip.

        • @superforever: The $10 off $50spend offer that ended on Sunday required different paypal accounts. The offer was supposed to be two transactions per person, but I couldn't put through a second transaction on my account because I'd used my paypal account to pay for a family member's purchase.

      • Per supetforever's question, can one have several eBay accounts with a single PayPal account, or you have to have many PayPal accounts as well?

        • You can have more than one eBay per PayPal. Usually you can only use the vouchers on one though (not sure of targeted ones are an exception if you get it on both). But if it's a once per account for anyone on eBay, for example, you can only use it once per PayPal, even if you have 2 eBay accounts linked to it.

I'm not sure how it would work with this one.

        • @Miss B: In that case having two eBay accounts for the same PayPal account is useless then.

        • @AussieDaddy:
There's a possibility it could be useful if they receive different targetted offers.

    • Never got 1 thing off ebay and been on Ozbargain for years :)

      • … which regularly has deals that are hosted on… ebay. ;-)

Hmm…. I thought I'd try anyway, and it says "Success!". Does that just mean it successfully received my application? Because I may have bought a thing or two(hundred) in the last 12 months.

    • Guessing it's only to confirm successful submission of your application. Fingers crossed on the 24th :)

      • +11

Yeah ok, it means nothing. Because

        [email protected]

        also resulted in success.

…unless of course he actually has that email address. Let me try his work address:

        [email protected]

        Also success!

          @Make it so

Hey, knock it off. You're childish comment is offensive to some others on ozbargain with other points of view.

    • I wonder too. Also not new, also regularly purchase things on the account (bought something only just now, in fact), but also success.

    • Nope. If just means youve successfully signed up to their mailing list. If you've purchased something in the last year, you wont be emailed the $10 voucher.

  • +16

None of my 153 accounts received it.

    • +10

      Should have opened 154.

    • +30

My 457 accounts worked but will be blocked soon

      • Yeah well your visa expired and time to leave the country.

        • You mean time to leave planets? From Uranus to Jupiter

        • @Turd:

Tightarse can help you leave Uranus.

Hi XXXXX, I hope you're well. Get $10 off, with no minimum spend.

Completely misleading, I thought it was $10 off a porn site.

      5X Porn

    • I thought tightarse was a QLDer with a name like that.

  • -4

I just put in one of my many email addy's and got a SUCCESS!

Do I have to open an eBay account with that email address to use the $10.00 voucher?

Or can I use the voucher on one of my existing eBay accounts?

    • Sigh…literally every question you asked was answered by OP in the original post.

  • +1

    anyone not receive Success!?

  • Is it linked to Paypal?

    • +1

This is the question. They've had past deals where your paypal email had to be the same one as your ebay email. We'll soon see.

  • -1

It's saying success for all email. Even my active one that I used last week got success.

    • +3

Success means you will get promotional material from them if you're not targeted as per Clause 12

  • -1

So I entered my email address that I haven't made an eBay account for yet. Should I make one now? Or should I have made it before entering my email address?

  • +1

    Get bucked eBay

  • +7

I forsee this thread will turn to shit on the 24th with a lot of abuse thrown at ebay

    • +1

Why's that? If you qualify you'll get it. T&Cs are clear.

      • +10

Because people on ozbargain are an entitled bunch

        • +3

With the amount of money I spend on shitBay, bloody oath I feel entitled.

  • best way to set up multiple accounts?

    like the best email service?

    • For a free $10 id expect strict interrogation of email, PayPal account, shipping address, and of course account.

      Edit: And name…

  • $100 for $85 is on groupon if you intend on spending that much

  • -5

I received a code from ebay via SMS.

    • Seriously?

      • -1

Is that the best you got because I received an SMS?

        • OK, show us the SMS then.

        • @BagIt: I've been a contributer to OzBargain for a few years now, why would I make something so insignificant up like that? Read what I posted what the SMS content said. I'll even help you out by telling you the SMS came to my phone yesterday. Get your facts right before commenting about something you have clearly no idea about.

        • +1

          @Reggie74:
Wut!? The deal wasn't even active yesterday!

        • -1

@BagIt: Where did I say it was connected to the deal? All I said was that I received an SMS from 'verify' containing an ebay code. Next.

        • +1

@Reggie74: What's the point of telling Ozbargain that you got an sms from ebay?

        • +3

          @BagIt:

I received a love note from my girlfriend via SMS. 😊

        Prob just a troll

        • -1

          A troll?

      • -4

The SMS came from 'verify'. The info said 'your ebay code is xxxxxx'.

        • +2

Why did they send you a code to verify? Are you obtaining your password?

  • valid if you have never shopped on eBay or at least in last 12months

    • +1

Darn, ok I'm not going to shop on Ebay for 12 months so I can get this sweet deal hopefully next time around :)

  • What does: "once their account has been validated" mean? Validated how?

  • Submission failed - please enable cookies.

    On Firefox.

    Worked on IE however…

  • Fingers crossed for a miracle.

  • +1

    What if I'm a robot?

    • +8

then you won't feel the pain of rejection.

  • Okay, So ebay wants to encourage user to open multiple accounts?

  • Courtesy of eBay's Scattergun marketing team.

    • If they'd reverse a bunch of their silly decisions back several years, they wouldn't need to be throwing money at people to use ebay. e.g. I've been receiving 'item ending soon' emails of items I recognise. Which makes me think they're in my watch list. But when I check they're not. So ebay is wasting my time looking at items AGAIN that I've already decided were too expensive/unsuitable. They've only recently started doing this. As far as I'm concerned it's spam - ebay once again doing what ebay does best - driving users away.

  • +1

Waiting on some good deals to come from eBay. Last few havent been all that great.

  • Anyone get their coupon? The new account I opened a few months ago which has not made a purchase still hasn't gotten the coupon. And I did get the success message when I submitted it.

    • +1

      As per OP…

Note that 'SUCCESS' upon submission of email does not mean you've qualified for the $10 off. This merely confirms your entry was received. You'll need to wait until April 24th to see if you've successfully met the guidelines for the offer.

      • +1

Cheers that was my understanding as well. Just wanted to see if anyone has actually recieve their coupon.

Oh I must have misunderstood about the date. I thought people would receive their coupon up until 24th, what you are saying is we will only get it on 24th.

        Cheers

  • Anyone get their voucher?

  • Received a random 10% voucher yesterday. Max $50 discount

  • It's the 24th, anyone got the coupon???

  • got one 30 mins ago and code expires on 30th April

  • received an active account email:
    "You're in the know
You know eBay better than the rest"

    • same email but no $10 coupon.

  • +1

Got this and spent it on the DSE radio cheers OP.
BTW just used it on my regular eBay account but entered with a fresh unused email. It worked fine

  • I got a $20 off coupon for $30 spend.

    • Did you receive it yesterday or today?

      • +1

        Today, an hour ago.

        • Sweet as, hopefully mine arrives too :)

  • Useless promotion. Partner signed up for the offer, never held an account with eBay. Made an offer for an item, got declined citing 0 feedback history.
Went to buy an item from another seller, used the code, order got cancelled for the same reason.

    The code can't be reused.

    • +1

Contact customer support via email they will issue you another voucher/code. Have done this myself on several occasions I found emailing them better than using their chat or phone service when getting vouchers reissued.

      • -2

What's the point if the order will be cancelled any way?

        • Yeah you are right don't bother, another useless eBay promotion

        • @adr8: Well, contacting the seller first might have been an idea, since many sellers actually state that in their auctions for zero feedback bidders. (Not sure what difference they think that makes, but anyway…)

Received a voucher this afternoon. Only conditions of concern are you can only use one voucher, and the paypal account you use must be active. It mentions nothing about the bidder not being able to pay with someone else's paypal account. I was about to purchase a $12 item anyway. So we'll soon see if it works.
